I'm not one to leave reviews unless it's warranted...with that said, I can't thank Dr. Brown and her stafg enough for going out of their way for me, and my doberman Kora. I had gone to my regular vet at 8am for help to be told we needed emergency surgery. My regular vet stated that she couldn't help us. The only vets in Rhode island and Connecticut who could help us were ocean state and pieper. Both costing over 5000.00. I had called approximately 40 vets throughout both states and NOBODY would help us but I ended up with Dr. BROWNS number. I was at the gas station with my dog when Dr. Dana Browns office called me back. I was on my way to put Kora down. Her staff told me to come there immediately. She and her staff rearranged there clients and family schedules to do my girls emergency surgery when nobody else would. She is brutally blunt, and doesn't sugarcoat anything. Some may say she doesn't have bedside manors. If you're looking for your hand held and a tissue while being told "everything will be ok" you'd be better off with Dr. PHIL. At the end of the day she's a great vet, and I will be bringing all of my dogs to her and her staff from now on. - Katrina Castagna

Southern Rhode Island Animal Hospital Introduce

For pet owners throughout Rhode Island, the health and well-being of our furry family members are of utmost importance. When faced with complex medical issues, chronic conditions, or even unexpected emergencies, having a veterinary team that is not only highly skilled but also deeply committed to going the extra mile can make all the difference. In the charming town of Richmond, Rhode Island, Southern Rhode Island Animal Hospital has established itself as a beacon of dedicated and often life-saving veterinary care, earning profound gratitude from local pet parents.

Southern Rhode Island Animal Hospital is renowned for its resolute approach to challenging cases and its unwavering commitment to providing a good quality of life for even the most difficult pet conditions. This clinic is celebrated for its willingness to step in when other options seem exhausted. As one incredibly grateful Doberman owner, who had been told by her regular vet and multiple emergency clinics that their beloved Kora needed expensive, unavailable surgery, recounted: "I had called approximately 40 vets throughout both states and NOBODY would help us but I ended up with Dr. BROWNS number." In a moment of despair, on the way to euthanize her dog, "Her staff told me to come there immediately. She and her staff rearranged there clients and family schedules to do my girls emergency surgery when nobody else would." This extraordinary dedication saved Kora's life, leading the owner to declare, "At the end of the day she's a great vet, and I will be bringing all of my dogs to her and her staff from now on."

Another long-term client, Joanne, echoed this sentiment, praising Dr. Dana as "AMAZING" for treating her "most difficult cat cases over the years," including those with "congestive heart failure," "blocked super colon," "kidney disease," and "enlarged heart." Despite living 22 miles away, Joanne travels the distance "because she has so much knowledge and compassion and works so incredibly hard to treat them." Dr. Mack, also at the practice, received high praise for her "great knowledge and much compassion" in treating a recently diagnosed diabetic cat, spending "quite a bit of time with me making sure I understood how to administer insulin and understand his treatment." These powerful testimonials highlight the clinic's profound impact on the lives of pets and their families in Rhode Island.
