Spay FIRST! Introduce
For pet owners across Oklahoma City and the surrounding communities, finding compassionate, quality, and affordable veterinary resources is a constant priority. The health and well-being of beloved dogs and cats—the state's cherished small animal population—often depend on accessible veterinary services and a reliable source for necessary medications and preventative treatments. **Spay FIRST!** addresses this critical need by operating as both a specialized **Veterinary Pharmacy** and a provider of essential **Veterinary Care** services, focusing primarily on promoting the general health and wellness of small companion animals.
The mission of a place like Spay FIRST! is deeply rooted in responsible pet ownership and community animal welfare. While the name strongly suggests a focus on the critically important spay/neuter procedures—a key component of eliminating pet overpopulation—the facility extends its services to encompass routine animal care needs. This combination of a veterinary clinic and a dedicated veterinary pharmacy makes it a centralized, convenient resource for local users seeking both professional medical services and the medications and products necessary to maintain their pets' long-term health.
The commitment to **Pet Care** and **Small Animal** wellness underscores the facility's role in supporting Oklahoma families in their efforts to be diligent, loving pet parents. In a state that highly values its pets, having a specialized resource that makes care more attainable is a significant advantage for the entire community.

While the full spectrum of services may be comprehensive, the listed primary areas of focus indicate a commitment to routine, preventative, and basic medical care for companion animals:
- **Veterinary Pharmacy:**- Dispensing prescription medications for animals.
- Providing essential pet health products (e.g., flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives).

- **Veterinary Care:**- Animal Care and general medical attention for small animals.
- Focus on Pet Care needs.
- Dedicated Small Animal services.
- **Wellness Service** provision, including preventative care, examinations, and vaccinations (typical for wellness-focused clinics).

The emphasis on **Wellness Service** is particularly important, as routine check-ups and preventative medicine are the most effective ways to ensure pets enjoy a long, healthy life, helping to catch potential health issues early on.
### Features / Highlights
Spay FIRST! stands out in the Oklahoma City veterinary landscape due to several key features that benefit the local pet-owning community:
- **Dual-Focus Convenience:** Operating as both a **Veterinary Care** provider and a **Veterinary Pharmacy** allows pet owners to receive a diagnosis, treatment, and often the required medication all in one convenient location, simplifying the pet health management process.
- **Commitment to Pet Health:** The specific inclusion of **Wellness Service** in the clinic's offerings highlights a dedication to preventative medicine, a sign of high-quality, proactive animal care.
- **Focus on Small Animals:** By concentrating on **Small Animal** care (dogs and cats), the clinic and pharmacy staff can maintain a high level of specialized knowledge relevant to the most common household pets in Oklahoma.
- **Accessibility:** The provision of both **Wheelchair accessible entrance** and **Wheelchair accessible parking lot** demonstrates an admirable commitment to making pet care physically accessible to all members of the community, regardless of mobility limitations.

### What is Worth Choosing
Choosing Spay FIRST! for your pet's needs is a worthwhile decision for Oklahoma residents who prioritize affordable access, convenience, and a specialized focus on small companion animals. The facility's unique positioning as both a **Veterinary Pharmacy** and a source of routine **Veterinary Care** simplifies the often-complex task of managing a pet's health. Instead of juggling a vet visit and a separate pharmacy trip, owners can address many needs in a single stop.
Furthermore, the inherent values often associated with clinics of this nature—such as making essential care like spaying and neutering more accessible—translate into a commitment to the overall welfare of the pet population. The focus on **Wellness Service** demonstrates a proactive approach to pet health, which is far more cost-effective and humane than treating diseases after they have progressed. By visiting Spay FIRST!, local pet owners are not only getting professional **Pet Care**; they are supporting an organization that plays a meaningful role in the health and well-being of the Oklahoma City pet community.
The facility’s attention to practical details, such as its location and accessibility features, further solidifies its value as a user-friendly option for all Oklahoma pet families.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- In response to the person who said the dog had mental problems, you have to realize that not all dogs are well adjusted. You HAVE to be prepared to give a LOT of attention to your animal. My little dog, who was 6 yrs old when I adopted her, took a solid 2 years to decompress and adjust to our household. I hope you returned it to the rescue so that they could find it a proper home. That's all these animals want and need, but you have to do your part and know that your pet may be broken. PLEASE know that they'll love and adore you if you truly save them!!! It, sometimes, is not for the faint of heart. HUGE thanks to all the rescuers out there giving their heart and soul!!! - I adopted a sweet dog from this this organization who is a has severe mental issues. She was obviously horribly neglected. When she came to me, it was within days of her being spayed and the drivers took a long route. She was supposed to be delivered in 2 days, it took 3. By then she chewed away at her stitches, opened her wound and I had to rush her to my vet. Her breath was awful. My vet said she needed a cleaning but within a month her teeth were clean. She also ate her poop! Her mental issues are so severe I may have to put her down.
