This article will provide a detailed look into Stand For Animals Veterinary Clinic, exploring its offerings, unique features, and why it has become a suitable option for many local pet owners in North Carolina.
Stand For Animals, originally founded as Spay Neuter Charlotte in 2011, began with a clear and impactful mission: to end the preventable euthanasia of thousands of dogs and cats in the Charlotte region by providing high-quality, low-cost spay/neuter and wellness services. This core mission has expanded, and while still committed to affordable spay/neuter, they now offer a broader range of veterinary care. Their goal is not just to treat animals, but to foster a community without homeless pets, recognizing that accessible care plays a crucial role in achieving this vision. For North Carolina residents looking for a veterinary partner that aligns with values of animal welfare and affordability, Stand For Animals Veterinary Clinic offers a distinct and important option. They strive to be a "forever vet" for some, and a crucial service provider for others, aiming to serve all pets and their humans.
Stand For Animals Veterinary Clinic is conveniently located at 10833 Pineville Rd, Pineville, NC 28134, USA. This strategic location places it within easy reach for residents of Pineville, as well as those in southern Charlotte and even parts of the Midlands region of South Carolina. Pineville Road is a well-traveled thoroughfare, ensuring straightforward access to the clinic from various surrounding neighborhoods and communities.
The clinic's accessibility is a key factor for pet owners, especially when considering routine visits or needing services that are both affordable and efficient. Its position on a main road simplifies navigation, reducing travel time and stress for both pets and their owners. As one of three clinic locations operated by Stand For Animals (the others being in Charlotte and Lake Norman), the Pineville branch extends their reach and mission to a broader demographic, making their services available to more North Carolina residents. This commitment to widespread accessibility underscores their dedication to helping as many pets as possible.
Stand For Animals Veterinary Clinic is committed to providing a range of veterinary services with a focus on affordability and accessibility. Their offerings cater to essential pet health needs, aligning with their mission to reduce pet overpopulation and promote overall animal welfare.
- High-Quality, Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Services: This is a foundational service of Stand For Animals. They offer affordable spay and neuter surgeries for both dogs and cats, crucial for preventing unwanted litters and reducing the number of homeless animals in shelters. Pricing is transparent and varies by pet weight for dogs.
- Affordable Routine Wellness Care: The clinic provides essential wellness services, including annual vaccines and check-ups. They offer various vaccine packages (e.g., The Essentials Package, The Preferred Package) which bundle common vaccinations and deworming, often including a veterinary exam. Individual vaccine pricing is also available, making it easy for pet owners to choose what fits their needs.
- Vaccinations: A wide range of core and lifestyle vaccines are available, such as Rabies (1-year and 3-year options), DA2PPv (Distemper/Parvo), Bordetella, and Leptospirosis. They also offer deworming services.
- Sick Visits: Stand For Animals offers appointments for sick pets experiencing non-life-threatening issues such as digestive, respiratory, skin, eye, or ear problems. They distinguish between "Sick Office Visits" (a face-to-face consultation with a doctor) and "Express Sick Visits" (for established pets with already diagnosed conditions, where treatment plans are provided via report card without a direct doctor conversation).
- Diagnostic Testing: Essential diagnostic tests are available, including Heartworm tests, FELV/FIV combo tests, fecal exams, and basic bloodwork and urinalysis. This helps in diagnosing common illnesses.
- Microchipping: They offer microchipping services with lifetime registration, a vital tool for reuniting lost pets with their families.
- Pharmacy Services: The clinic provides access to prescription medications, including parasite preventatives like Bravecto and Imoxi, as well as other necessary treatments. They also have an online pharmacy for convenient prescription fulfillment.
- Additional Services: Other routine services include nail trims and anal sac expressions, typically provided as add-ons to other appointments.
Stand For Animals Veterinary Clinic is distinguished by several key features and highlights, reflecting its unique approach to veterinary care in North Carolina.
- Mission-Driven and Nonprofit Focus: A core highlight is their foundational mission to reduce pet overpopulation and euthanasia through affordable spay/neuter services and accessible veterinary care. As a nonprofit organization, their primary driving force is animal welfare, not profit margins. This mission resonates deeply with many pet owners who prioritize ethical and community-minded practices.
- Affordable Pricing and Transparent Costs: Stand For Animals is widely recognized for its lower pricing compared to many private practices, particularly for vaccines and spay/neuter surgeries. They offer transparent, upfront pricing and even provide interest-free payment plans, making essential veterinary care financially feasible for more families in the Charlotte area. This commitment to affordability is a significant draw.
- High Volume, Efficient Operation: The clinic is designed to serve a large number of clients, particularly for routine services like vaccinations. This high-volume model allows them to offer lower costs and handle many appointments efficiently, often described by clients as "running like a well-oiled machine."
- Focus on Preventative Care: Their emphasis on affordable vaccines and wellness exams directly supports preventative health, which is crucial for long-term pet well-being and can help avoid more costly treatments down the line.
- Friendly Staff: Multiple reviews commend the staff for being consistently friendly, kind, and organized. This welcoming atmosphere contributes positively to the client experience, even in a high-volume setting.
It is important to note that while the clinic excels in affordability and routine preventative care, some customer feedback suggests that their model, focused on efficiency and high volume, might lead to a more rushed experience for complex sick cases, potentially requiring a second opinion from a full-service animal hospital for serious illnesses. This highlights that while they are an excellent resource for many needs, pet owners should understand their operational model.

Stand For Animals Veterinary Clinic Reviews
I will never stop mentioning this place to people who have pets. I absolutely love Stand for Animals and have never had a bad experience here over the years. The staff is always friendly and they run like a well oiled machine!
Mar 28, 2025 · Laura QuijanoAll the staff are very kind, however, stand for animals is only good for cheap vaccines. If your dog is sick DO NOT take them here! Take them to a real vet! Stand for animals takes on way too many clients at a time and I feel they rush through their patients appointments. My dog was sick, made an appointment with stand for animals.. they tell me they have no idea what’s wrong with my baby, send her home with cough tabs that did not work. 2 weeks later my boxer baby is still not feeling well and not getting any better. I make an appointment with friendship animal hospital, they take their time examining my dog, set up a great treatment plan. Send her home with antibiotics and steroids, my sweet girl was literally improving after the first dose of meds! Has not coughed once since starting her meds from this vet! Unbelievable that my baby has been sick for 3weeks and could have been better much sooner had more time and care been taken at her first visit with stand for animals!
Jul 04, 2025 · Paula GThis is an excellent non-profit veterinary clinic. It is sometimes difficult to get your pet in initially, but once they are patients, they are well taken care of. Their costs and care for initial shots and neutering can’t be beaten. We have been very leased with the care our kitten and older cats have received.
Feb 15, 2025 · carl mcculloughLove Stand for Animals. Just wish their scheduling process was a little easier and it would be nice to speak to someone when calling. Overall, all of our experiences have been great. We’ve had our animals spayed and neutered, vaccines and deep clean teeth cleaning. Definitely recommend
