Mar 12, 2025 · Robin TeeterI don't even know where to begin. The staff at Stillwater Vet is absolutely amazing. They truly know how to handle an extremely difficult situation for pets owners. My husband and I thought we had more time with our 12 year pit. But unfortunately on December 19th our sweet Bella was not doing well and we had to make that painful decision that we had to put her down. My husband made a few calls, as well as myself. Looking to see if there was any where close that would be able to help. A few places said they could, but they were extremely pricey. When I first contacted Stillwater, I had to leave a message. Kimberly quickly to return my call and address our concerns that we had. She offered a home appointment and some in office appointments for us. We choose in office. Before arriving for our appointment Dr Otis gave me a call to discuss what was going on with Bella and to go over what to expect when we arrive. Upon arriving Marissa (our nurse) greeted us and took us we to a nice cozy little room, with a dog bed, and some furniture. She told us that they wanted to ensure that Bella was comfortable the whole time we were there. Bella was able to get comfortable. Once Marissa noticed that Bella was comfortable she explained everything in detail on what she was going to do. My husband was concerned that we had to leave during the process. But Marissa reassured him that we didn't have to leave, that we could stay with her the whole time. Marissa took great care of our Bella girl. She made sure that she stayed completely comfortable the whole time before her final breathe. We chose to have her cremated and returned to us. They took such good care of our sweet girl in her final time, and made should a hard time a little easier for mom and dad, especially around this holiday time. They told us it could take a couple weeks to get her ashes back. But they called me within a week that she was ready for us to pick up. They made arrangements for me to pick her up. Our sweet girl is back home. Everyone had Stillwater are so compassionate, empathetic, intentive to your concerns/needs. I would without a doubt recommend them to any pet owner who has to make that difficult decision. They truly go above and beyond, for the pets and their homeowners.
Dec 28, 2024 · Aimee BachmanMy dog was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and a cancerous mass in his lung. His time left with us was uncertain, but while we were staying at our lake house in upstate New York, I wanted to have a backup plan in place—surrounded by love and family if the time came.Even though we were out of range, Stillwater Veterinary made the compassionate effort to schedule an in-home euthanasia. They walked with me through the process during an emotionally overwhelming time, offering kindness and support every step of the way.Thankfully, my dog remained stable enough for us to return to our home state, and the appointment was canceled in advance. Still, I’m incredibly grateful to Stillwater for their understanding and willingness to help when I needed it most.
May 30, 2025 · Megan GaffneyI don’t have the words to express the gratitude that I feel for Annie and the entire Stillwater team. Therefore I’ll just say, thank you so, so much for doing what you do.Henley was my baby, we traveled “the world” (the states) together. We hiked, we swam, we went for boat rides, and we walked thousands and thousands of miles together. He was the worlds cutest mascot at all my club sports. We spent every day together for 8.5 years and he was taken from me far too soon (F cancer). He was my best friend and adventure buddy and my heart is shattered into a million pieces. Even though it will eventually mend, it will never be whole again. The one thing that brings me peace is that Henley was able to be with me at home, in his favorite spot, instead of the one and only place in the entire world that he hated (the vet). That was possible because of Stillwater. Annie was incredibly sweet and even though it was worst day of my life, she stood out to me. The card I received after, from someone that only knew Henley a very short time, was so beautiful and personal. What a wonderful human being. I could never do your job, but I want you to know how thankful I am that people like you exist in this world. You make it infinitely better for the rest of us.
Oct 20, 2023 · Skye IngrahamThis was one of the best moves we ever made at the last day of our beloved dog. Very peaceful -and compassionate. Our Diesel went to the other side in the comfort of our living room. The vet tech was knowledgeable and had such a calm demeanor. Our pets who are our family should not end their life walking in to a cold veterinary office on a cold hard table.
