★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- The people in this facility genuinely care about the health and safety of our pets. We thought our dog had cancer and the vet asked if he could run one more test, and found out that our dog had swallowed a sewing needle. Very happy he urged us to do the additional testing. - Would definitely recommend Tender Care. We've been there a few times with cat & dog and always feel welcome from the time we walk in. Very caring, informative and accommodating. Requested a same-day appointment, not expecting one, but they made it happen. Thankful the Pet Adoption Center referred us to them. May 31 · Jeanne Van Horn
- great place with kind people ! brought my cat in for the first time and they were very helpful. drove 20min to get there due to their $25 first visit deal which is very convenient! August 08 · Hannah Westhoff
- The vet and vet tech were both caring and knowledgeable. The doctor gave me more information about a teeth issue that helped me formulate a game plan. That’s a sign of good vet care, IMO. April 19 · Julie
- The receptionist here are friendly and the atmosphere is clean and inviting. It is still a great place to get a reasonable appointment time for a sick pet. However, since the building has been under new ownership I have come across some issues for my pets. One is the price of everything has gone up from sitting room fees to heart worm prevention. Another is that one vet in particular seems more interested in selling related ad ons than understanding the needs of their clients. When I expressed that I sadly couldn't afford any of the long term medications for cancer, diabetes or kidney disease that the vet wanted to test for and that I would like to discuss end of life care or euthanasia, I was essentially ignored. I scheduled the tests but ended up rushing him in for an emergency euthanasia because he was actively dying and possibly in pain. To their credit they did fit us in and send a heart jerking sympathy card after the fact. The third issue I have is that I acquired a new kitten and scheduled an appointment right away during the week to have him vaccinated they gladly accommodated me but when I arrived who should greet me but the same vet that had overseen my former cat. One of his issues was an upper respiratory infection. She told me to give him a particular immune booster. When I paid, I asked to make the appointment for the rest of the vaccines on a different day. It was then that the receptionist told me that they felt it was of the best interest of kittens to stay with whomever had been first appointed to them through their first year. So I couldn't switch. It would have been helpful to have been told this policy and who would be working through the week when I called and told them I had a new kitten. I stuck with the vet for the next visit. His infection hadn't improved and I explained he wouldn't eat the chews so I was strongly advised to get the powder. His vaccines were finished and I was told I could schedule his neutering at anytime. When I went to the pet store and asked a receptionist at the pet hospital there how to give the powder she said she was surprised his vet hadn't also prescribed medication. An alarm bell sounded, especially after she said it would be weeks before he could be seen there. By the end of the week he was vomiting and had diarrhea. I called the vet at Tender Care and was told that if wasn't better by the end of the weekend it he may need to be hospitalized. I GOOGLED how to care for a kitten with an upper respiratory infection and found clear pedialyte with no artificial sugar could be given and I made an appointment with another vet at A DIFFERENT clinic. The pedialyte stopped the vomiting, firmed the poo and gave him some appetite back. The new vet gave him an antibiotic and anti diarrheal and said that he could take the immune booster daily to help stave off future infections but they were quite common in kittens regardless of their birth circumstances and she recommended not neutering for at least another month or even two since he was only four months old and six was their recommendation and it would help his immune system to strengthen and his attachments to be secure and his stress to be low which were all important for a successful surgical procedure. Seven days later my kitten was recovered and he continues to thrive. September 03 · M
