I don’t even know where to start. My mom also used TAMC. She took her dog to a different vet because he has been having a UTI for a year! We found out at the new vet that he had a heart murmur 3 out of 6! Why did Tamc not tell us about it?? Also, TAMC has been given the wrong class of antibiotics for a UTI, too.My little dog has a lot of health issues. I brought her in many times over the year for coughing. Every time I came in, Dr. Huffman wanted an X-ray. EVERY time my dog coughs. She doesn't diagnose, she just wants more X-rays. Come to find out my dog has a collapsing trachea. She coughs all the time so I can’t pay for an X-ray every time she coughs. My little dog also has mega esophagus, and she would get pneumonia several times a year. She got sick beginning of this year, and I had to take her to the emergency vet. The reason she keeps getting pneumonia is that she’s aspirating on her food. TAMC never told me I had to hold her straight up and down to help her food move down more smoothly so she doesn’t aspirate on it. Since that emergency vet told me about holding her up and down, she has not had pneumonia again. These vets don’t explain anything fully. My other dog needed a test. All Dr. Bagget said was to do the $150 test and put him on medicine he will be fixed. No. Come to find out you have to keep doing the $150 test until they get the dosing correct. He did the first test and said he would call me the next day to go over the results and get my dog on the new medication. Well he didn’t, and instead he went out of town for over a week… my dog was in pain and so uncomfortable. The most recent experience I had was my little dog with lots of health issues got very, very sick. I spent around $1000 at TAMC to figure out what was wrong. Well, they of course didn’t figure it out, and the medicine didn’t help. I had taken her to the emergency vet and the next weekend to the urgent care vet in Waco bc she kept getting worse. Thankfully, the urgent care vet is fantastic! She figured out what was wrong with my little dog. She treated her for parasites from all the rain in July, and she also has another GI issue. The medication has fixed my little dog; she’s finally gaining weight and has been the healthiest she has ever been!! Highly recommend the urgent care vet!! - Regan

Choosing a veterinarian is a deeply personal decision, and for many Texans, it's about finding a place where trust and professionalism intersect. The provided information highlights both positive and negative experiences, which is valuable for making an informed decision. One customer review praised the center, highlighting that the staff is "cheery, personable, and kind," and that they "work you in" during emergencies, which is a great feature for local users. They also mentioned the "female vet" as their favorite, praising the staff's confidence and expertise, which is a significant factor in building trust with a vet clinic.

However, it is also important to consider all perspectives. The detailed negative review offers insights into potential communication issues and the importance of seeking multiple opinions, particularly with complex or ongoing conditions. It underscores the need for pet owners to be their pet's advocate, to ask questions, and to ensure they fully understand a diagnosis and treatment plan. This kind of feedback, while challenging, can be a tool for potential clients to prepare for their visit and ensure they get the best possible outcome for their pet. It reminds us that no single clinic is perfect for every situation, and having a good relationship and clear communication with your veterinarian is key. For those in Waco, Texas Animal Medical Center’s extensive services and emergency capabilities make it a strong contender for a primary care provider, especially when paired with an engaged and communicative approach from the pet owner's side.

Ultimately, what is worth choosing is a veterinary partner that fits your specific needs. Texas Animal Medical Center’s comprehensive services and ability to handle everything from routine check-ups to complex surgeries make it a significant asset to the Waco community. The positive feedback from a customer who found the staff to be "polite, and affordable" speaks to the value and quality of care provided. It's a place where you can get a wide range of services under one roof, and for those who value efficiency and having a single, reliable hub for their pet's health, TAMC is a strong option. The combination of medical capability and a friendly, reassuring staff, as noted in the reviews, makes it a place many Texans will feel comfortable entrusting with the care of their beloved animals.
