Operating under the philosophy of treating pets like their own, The Animal House offers a comprehensive approach to pet health and happiness. The facility is split into two co-located, but distinct, operations: the Pet Clinic (veterinarian and veterinary pharmacy) and the Groom and Board side, creating a hub where multiple pet needs can be met in one visit. This integrated model is a huge benefit for Wisconsin pet owners, simplifying pet care logistics and offering the peace of mind that comes from having veterinary oversight for all services, including boarding. This is particularly valuable for pets that require **medication disbursement** while staying at the resort.
The commitment to excellence is reflected in the facility's status as an **AAHA-Accredited Hospital** (American Animal Hospital Association), a distinction that demonstrates their dedication to meeting the highest industry standards for veterinary care, often exceeding basic state regulations. For pet owners in Wisconsin, choosing **The Animal House Groom and Board** is a choice for comprehensive, accountable, and integrated care, which is particularly crucial for pet families with busy schedules or animals with ongoing medical needs.
The paramount reason this facility is worth choosing is the **integrated veterinary pharmacy and medical oversight**. Unlike standalone groomers or kennels, this location has a veterinary clinic and hospital on-site. This means that if your pet needs daily medication during a boarding stay—a service explicitly offered—it is dispensed by trained professional staff with veterinary management. This level of medical integration significantly reduces the risks associated with non-medical boarding, offering unparalleled peace of mind when traveling. Furthermore, the convenience of picking up prescription refills directly from the veterinary pharmacy after a check-up or when collecting your pet from boarding saves valuable time and effort.
The second key factor is the **high standard of pet comfort and care**. The reviews confirm the staff's dedication to creating a positive experience, even for high-energy dogs. Clients appreciate the "well-oiled machine" efficiency of the drop-off and pick-up process, allowing for quick, non-stressful transitions. The availability of luxury boarding suites, specialized cat condos, and professional grooming by staff who can quickly identify potential health issues ensures your pet’s physical and emotional comfort is a top priority.
While the facility may face complex situations that lead to difficult experiences, as some highly emotional accounts may attest, the general consensus is that the team is friendly, helpful, and committed to excellent care over many years. For the majority of routine services—boarding, grooming, check-ups, and convenient pharmacy access—The Animal House Groom and Board provides a valuable, multi-faceted resource for maintaining your pet's health and happiness in the Green Bay area. The AAHA accreditation reinforces that you are choosing a facility committed to excellence in veterinary practice standards.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- Has taken me 3 years to come here to leave this review. My bad experiences here where something I had to heal from and just want to possibly help someone not experience the same pain I had when putting down my 13 year old best friend Chewie. After about 5 days of finding availability and the vet that would operate on my dog I was told it was best to not do the operation because she might not wake up anesthesia. Obviously it was a hard decision to make but I had to do what was right for my dog. When I went to put her down the veterinarian that came in had informed me that I could not pick her up well this process was done in that she would let me know when it was"safe" to console my dog as she was being put to death. I was completely bullied and manipulated in a time when I had very little strength. Instead of fighting I listened and by the time the vet told me I could touch my dog she was pronounced dead and I didn't want to give this veterinarian the attention that belonged to my dead dog but it has stuck with me for 3 years how horrible that experience was and how horrible that person was and I have talked to many veterinarians and many people have put their dogs down who were allowed to hold their dog who did not have any problems or any issues. I feel like I let my dog down. I should have stood up for myself and said no we will go somewhere else then. But instead I listened because you did not explain you were going to wait until she was fully dead to let me pick her up. I am a woman of God so I don't wish anything bad about you. I just wish that you do not do this to anybody else. Strong suggest talking with your veterinarian before getting your dog put down to make sure that their plants and your plans are the same. Don't let anybody bully you into doing something for your baby that doesn't make you feel okay. I will never step foot in this building again and writing this review makes me shake. - I took my two boxers here for their very first Groom. They are both 5 years old and never been to a groomer (their coats are short so low maintenance). I recently had back surgery so bending and clipping nails and bathing them is a painful if not impossible task. Animal House got us in super quick. This place is a well-oiled machine. They bathed, brushed, cleaned ears, expressed anal glands, and clipped nails. I was anxious about the dog’s experience so when I, impatiently, called to check in, the staff was very sweet and gave me a positive update. I like that I drop them off at the designated time and they call me when they are ready! We don’t groom or board often but if we do in the future this is where we’ll go. June 06 · Elizabeth Scheckel
- I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the animal house groom and board members for their unwavering support and guidance with my deaf boxer mix dog, Bluey. Recently, we adopted Bluey and quickly realized that communicating with him was a challenge due to his deafness. This was further complicated by the fact that our two other dogs were struggling to get along with him. Fortunately, we reached out to AH Training Club, where Michael Haverkorn trained Bluey. The training not only improved Bluey's behavior but also strengthened his bond with our other dogs, ultimately enhancing our family life. Michael's dedication to his program and his ability to address all my concerns were invaluable. As a family, we are proud of Bluey's progress and grateful for Michael's hard work. - This was my dog Vega’s first full stay here, and overall I’m really impressed. She’s a reactive pitbull with a trauma background, and I was genuinely nervous about finding a new kennel after her previous one closed. From the very beginning, I felt reassured. During her trial run, I was given a full tour, had the chance to speak with a trainer, and got a good sense of how seriously they take both safety and individualized care. They offer enrichment add-ons like one-on-one playtime (which was perfect for Vega since she doesn’t do well with other dogs), daily photo updates, and even Kongs for mental stimulation. For longer stays, they build in additional play sessions, which I really appreciated. They also gave me a report card about how she did during her stay. Vega came home looking healthy, happy, and relaxed, truly the best outcome I could’ve hoped for. They were also very thorough about documentation. Unlike some other kennels, they required full vaccination records up front, which gave me peace of mind. Everything about the care, communication, and attention to detail was excellent. The only reason I’m leaving four stars instead of five is due to an upsetting experience during pickup. I misunderstood the Sunday pickup hours and arrived early. I attempted to call and knock, but no one responded, and eventually I used an unlocked employee entrance door to try to find help. While I now understand that wasn’t the correct procedure, I explained the situation repeatedly. Unfortunately, I was met with a harsh and scolding tone from the staff member I encountered, which felt completely disproportionate. I was literally in tears by pickup time, and now I have terrible anxiety; not about Vega’s care, which was fantastic, but about the possibility of interacting with that specific person again. As an autistic person, I sometimes struggle to navigate unclear procedures, especially when something unexpected happens. That’s a real (if invisible) disability, and the lack of patience and the hostility I experienced during pickup hit hard.I also strongly feel that race may have played a role in how I was treated during pickup. As a Black woman approaching 40, I know the difference between someone enforcing a rule and someone treating me like I’m a threat or a problem. The staff member I interacted with spoke to me with an unnecessary level of hostility and condescension, like I was absurd for even being there, despite my repeated explanations. I understand not everyone will see it this way, but this is how it felt to me, and I think it’s important to name. If I were a white woman making the same honest mistake, I truly believe the interaction would have gone very differently. That adds to why I feel such intense anxiety about returning, not because of the care my dog received (which was excellent), but because I don’t want to be treated like that again. If the same care and empathy I saw toward Vega had been extended to me in that moment, this would be a five-star review without question. That said, I want to emphasize: the care itself was outstanding. Vega was safe, enriched, and well-supported. I truly appreciate the work this team put into her stay. May 11 · M B
- We have brought our golden doodles there a few times and have been very satisfied. The staff seem to genuinely care about our dogs and the dogs seem happy when we pick them up. Fancy little report card is nice as well (see photo). We plan to continue to use Animal House for grooming. December 21 · Matt Malcore
