★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I was recommended this clinic by family members who live in Ripon, and I’m very glad I followed their advice. I recently had my cat spayed here, and while I don’t recall the veterinarian’s name, he was extremely knowledgeable and reassured me that my cat’s weight (6 pounds) was perfectly normal and healthy, which eased my concerns. The surgery went smoothly, and I’d like to give special recognition to Maya, one of the assistants. She was incredibly friendly, supportive, and helpful throughout the process. It’s clear she plays a vital role in ensuring everything runs efficiently.

March 24 · Sheryl HeilingUnfortunately after 3 years I will be leaving RVC. I have always brought my pets here. I love their vets but their new receptionist is absolutely terrible.I contacted them for an estimate, (obviously depending on the situation prices can vary) she didn’t even attempt to help me understand the cost I was coming into and wouldn’t let me finish a single sentence until I said “can I finish my sentence please?” She said an ear infection could cost anywhere from $110 to hundreds of dollars. Being a previous customer that was extremely confusing since they typically give me a general ball park even if it’s $100-250 or $100 to $400. With her emphasis on “hundreds” of dollars I asked “okay so I guess how do I budget for that if let’s say I planned on bringing $200 and they require $500 to leave” her response? “Let me help you with that, my new estimate is now $500”With the way she was talking to me I hung up and called a new clinic. They were happy to let me finish a sentence AND give me an estimate. The way you treat your clients matter.
August 22 · Callie GriffinUnfortunately after a few years of taking our dog to RVC I can no longer say they provide the quality of care we are looking for. The veterinarians are good, both that have seen my dog have been caring and professional. However, we have now had two horrible experiences with the vet techs working at the clinic.First, our dog had surgery in February, upon picking him up one of the techs instructed my husband to put hydrogen peroxide on his incisions. Because my husband has medical knowledge he knew that could not be safe and asked the vet to clarify. The vet told us under no circumstances should peroxide go on the dogs wounds and he apologized that we received bad advice from the vet tech. We were unimpressed with the overall process; recovery instructions were not clear, we were given incorrect aftercare instructions, and his stitches were uneven and jagged leaving him with several small lumps in his side.Because I had previously liked the care we got from this vet I continued services and showed up for an annual blood draw and heartworm test. This was the most unprofessional and frankly traumatic experience for myself and my dog I have ever been part of. The vet tech who was drawing the blood could not find a vein in my dogs legs. I watched as she inserted the needle and proceeded to swipe it left and right under his skin hoping to see a flash of blood. She would not only pull out and reinsert the needle but also was literally digging around searching for a vein in my dog’s arm. My dog sat still each time she initially inserted the needle but as soon as she began to move it around under his skin he became understandably very agitated and uncomfortable. She went to get another tech and I was relieved thinking someone else would be doing the blood draw but no. The second vet tech came in to hold my dog down while the first tech stuck him over and over multiple times in each of his legs. And still no blood was drawn, except on accident when my dog began to bleed out of one leg where he was poked several times.I regret not taking my dog and walking out the door sooner. The office called and offered to reschedule and do the blood draw for free. No amount of money saved will ever bring me back through those doors. I am not familiar with the field of veterinary medicine but based on my own experiences I would caution anyone NOT to allow any procedure no matter how small to be done by the technicians at Ripon Vet Clinic.
June 20 · Morgan LeonardDr Carl Magnusson and the girls have been the best I've ever been to. I'd never had an old dog before and he was a huge help. He's always there when I needed him as things changed with her health. We decided to let her go yesterday. As hard as it was I was very comfortable and felt supported by both him and Makayla. Dr has been very helpful, honest, empathic and informative. He's got such a calming presence that my normally high anxiety didn't bother me as much, which is incredible. I will absolutely be back with my next dog.
