★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I took my sweet Maverick for BOAS surgery. The surgery was scheduled for a couple of months out and during this time the staff were so nice and answered all my questions every time I called. The day of his appointment went great. All the staff were so nice and just LOVED Maverick. Dr. Tobias and Vet Student Savannah were amazing! Maverick was only in surgery for 30 minutes. They called me before and after surgery and then a couple of times in the evening with updates. Maverick stayed the night for observation and was able to come home the next morning. They even called the next two days after surgery to check on him and gave great advise to help give him his meds. I am very pleased with the services I received and would recommend anyone who has a pup that needs BOAS to go to the UT Vet Clinic. They worked with my budget and actually came under their estimate range, which was a huge blessing as this is a very expensive surgery. Thank you so much to everyone to helped my Maverick!
July 25 · Rebecca BurrellAbsolutely outstanding care and compassion to our poor boy Hawkins Friday. We couldn't have asked for a better vet, Dr. McIntosh. He treated us with compassion and Hawkins with three respect her deserved. While the outcome wasn't what we hoped, he and the staff were just amazing. And made it as comfortable as possible for us and Hawkins. Thank you
August 30 · Eric McNew100% the best office I could have ever taken my sweet bearded dragon to! It was an hour and a half drive, I took her to a place that was HIGHLY praised to get her the best chance. Locally to me, there unfortunately isn’t any specialists for exotics. They took such wonderful care of her, and kept her comfortable the whole time! They explained everything so well and to a T so we knew exactly what was going on. The staff was wonderful in keeping us informed the whole time. My Cooper girl has had it rough. She got sick, went into brumation, and just couldn’t potty on her own for 4 months. They did an enema on her, and unclogged her, she used the bathroom a little there! 6 days later (yesterday) she finally went potty for the first time on her own accompanied by a warm soak! My girl is back to her normal self and it’s so good to see after 4 hard months! Thank you UT!
April 14 · Alexandria MotternThank you to everyone involved in our bunny Jack-Jack’s care. Everyone we spoke to was very supportive and kind. We didn’t get the outcome we were hoping , but I am grateful for the care that he received.
July 28 · Caroline BrownMaking the decision to seek emergency care at UT Medical Center for my sweet Remy (a five-year old mini poodle) was the best decision I could have made for him. What initially started out as a minor injury (daughter accidently stepping on his back) turned scary as Remy's symptoms began to worsen each day. By the time we made it to UT, Remy had full paralysis in his back legs and couldn't walk. Turns out he had a condition (IVDD) where a slipped disk was compressing his spinal cord.Leaving Remy at the hospital for surgery was the best decision for his long-term prognosis. But at that point he had deteriorated so much, that even with the operation, he only had a 50/50 chance of walking again.Dr. Alessandra Chiaramonte did Remy's surgery, and she was nothing short of amazing! She explained the nuance of his condition and helped us understand the procedure. And while any spinal surgery is scary, we had no doubt that Remy was in the best hands. Thankfully, she was able to alleviate all pressure on Remy's spinal cord by removing the disc material that was causing the problem. She also kept us updated on his post-op recovery, which has been nothing short of amazing! These past few days he's been meeting all markers that indicate he will eventually (after a long, restful recovery) be back to good health and walk again. While we were prepared to accept any outcome as Remy is a cherished member of our family and we'd love him regardless, we're so grateful that he ended up in Dr. Chiaramonte's hands. He has so many years left. And now he can continue doing the things that bring him joy. Running off leash in parks when no other dogs are around, riding on my lap while perched on his back legs with his head out the car window enjoying the wind, and walking the beach looking for sea creatures buried in sand. We credit all this to Dr. Chiaramonte, her amazing surgical team, and the phenomenal med students that helped take care of Remy during his stay.If your pet needs emergency care, you need to go to UT. 🧡
