Valley Veterinary Emergency Hospital and Referral Center Reviews
Our sweet girl Phoebe passed away late at night. We brought her in to be put to rest and they were extremely kind to us. They had a safe and comforting room for us to be in. They treated her with dignity and respect. They let us take our time and took her only when we said we were ready. We are extremely grateful to have been able to bring her in.
May 05, 2025 · Michael MurnTook our pet here to say goodbye. We had a great experience, all things considered. The staff was kind and compassionate. I told the desk we were here for euthanasia, they took my information Leroys name breed and age. They didn't try to upsell us and respected our intentions of the visit. They came to the car carried him in on a padded gurney with blankets (which he remained on the whole time). We parked and they showed us to our room. The waiting room was packed but we were able to go straight to our room. The room did not feel like a vet office which was very comforting for the dog and us.After they placed his catheter in the back treatment area they brought him in and we said goodbye, we pushed a doorbell to let them know when we were ready. While they placed his catheter we handled paperwork and paid, it was nice to be able to just leave after.10/10 would recommend. The experience was very low stress for us and Leroy and the homey comfort room helped immensely. We had planned for a home euthanasia when the time came but 1 vet was on maternity leave, 2 others where on vacation and the other 2 didn't have availability. Leroy had cancer for 4 years, we woke up that morning to find that our active fun loving 14 year old family member was suddenly paralyzed and numb in his front legs.Thank you for the care you gave him and our family.
Mar 22, 2025 · Kathrine ReinmuellerMy mom and I brought my cat Smoky here on Saturday evening because she had torn open her incisions from a surgery done last week elsewhere. Our wait was right at 3 hours, and the staff was polite the entire time both during check in and the occasional question we had while sitting around. The stitches that were redone look amazing, and they’re holding very well days later now. This is the first time I’ve ever had to take a pet to an emergency animal facility and I’m glad we chose here.
Mar 05, 2025 · Krystalyn YeakleyThey took in my sweet boy and treated him like one of their own. He was looked after and well taken care of. We called to check on him midway through his stay to ease our anxieties, but they never made us feel bad to call and check in. Highly recommend them if the need should ever arise for you.
May 25, 2025 · Amy Kerr****Edited to reduce Star review purely since the owner seems to only respond to positive reviews and not to honest experience reviews. I felt my review was fair and honest as I praised what they did right but I also acknowledged where I felt they failed. 4 weeks on since his passing I’m still struggling with the guilt of how Buddy passed and it’s even more frustrating to see they only respond to those that praise their services. I also revised the reference to Agape because they actually contacted me to discuss the experience and took great strides to make it right as much as they could.****Original review:I want to start by saying our initial experience with Valley Emergency was wonderful. I’ve still given them 4 stars due to how they were throughout our numerous visits over the past few weeks. The entire team were extremely thorough and empathic to our Buddy’s needs. Given our boy was struggling with a tumor in his lung we decided to have Valley perform his end of life services. This was no easy decision, one that I tried to delay several times, but he was suffering and I knew I was being selfish by trying to keep him going. Banfield was his regular vets, however we were adamant that his last moments in this world would not be under the stress of being inside a PetSmart/Banfield office since it was such a stressful time for him at each visit. The end of life room at Valley is a very beautiful and calm environment. There’s a couch where you can cuddle with your pet and they allow you to handle the payment and paperwork ahead of time, so that you can focus on your last moments with your pet. I never felt rushed in saying goodbye. However, when the time came to say goodbye the experience didn’t go well. The catheter hadn’t been placed correctly, so when they started to administer the sedative it wasn’t going in. They had to call in more vet techs and replace the line by placing it in his back leg. I’m not sure if being placed in his back leg made a difference in time for the medication to travel through his body but our beautiful boy started to become distressed with all of this, and what was supposed to be peaceful passing turned into a traumatic experience for him. One that now I’m left with immense guilt from. I feel like I failed him. While I understand these things happen, I now have to carry the weight of his final moments being distressed and him pushing up on me in fear.Furthermore, we elected to use Agape for his after life care since they were recommended by Valley. After receiving our initial call from their team I was left even more disheartened by the experience. My boy passed at 730am Thursday morning, and I received the initial email from Agape by 730 the next day, with the Agape team member following up at 845am the same day. While I was keen for his remains to be handled swiftly following his passing, the Agape staff member was abrupt and had no empathy to our loss. The women I spoke with asked had made a decision yet, and when I said no that I had only just received the email, she sounded annoyed and said that she can extend the time period but I need to make the decision soon. It wasn’t even 9am and I felt like I was being rushed to select the options for his cremation. Again, while not Valleys fault, I feel that maybe they should pursue another cremation service for their after care. While I have since selected his cremation services, again I feel like I failed him. If the Agape team members are abrupt and have a “transactional” approach with the grieving owner, how am I to believe they will treat my boys remains with dignity. ****Agape heard my feedback and demonstrated true compassion by reaching out to me to discuss, unlike Valley vets. So while the experience is still listed here, at least they tried to make it right as much as possible.****I would still recommend Valley for emergency services because the team were great overall but felt like I needed to write this so that others hopefully don’t experience what Buddy did during his final moments.
