Banfield Pet Hospital Reviews
I love coming to the banfield in Winchester VA. The staff is always trying to get us in and out and they take good care of my babies. I’ve been going there for just over 2 years and I don’t have any complaints. They also have a good yearly subscription with monthly payments.
Mar 14, 2025 · Shanaynay MarquessDO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!I took my 4-year-old Golden Retriever to Banfield Hospital in Winchester on Saturday at 11 AM for routine care—vaccines, a heartworm test, anal gland expression, and nail trimming. From the start, the experience was awful.🔹 RUDE STAFF & POOR COMMUNICATIONThe front desk lady was extremely rude with horrible customer service. They told me my dog would be done in 2 hours, and they would call me when he was ready. FOUR HOURS passed with no update, so we went in person to check.🔹 FALSE CLAIMS & NEGLIGENCEWhen we arrived, the vet, Paige P. Robbins, claimed my dog was "too anxious" and had bit a nurse, which is completely false. My dog has never shown aggression—he was raised around small children and has always been gentle. Because of this, they didn't perform any of the procedures except for the heartworm test.🔹 UNEXPLAINED INJURIES & SUSPICIOUS DELAYWhen they finally brought my dog out (after making us wait 35 more minutes), another nurse casually said, "Oops, he has a boo-boo." I was shocked—he had a red bump on his forehead and red, irritated eyes, as if he had been medicated without my consent. When I asked why, they claimed he hit his head on the wall—which makes NO sense.🔹 COVER-UP?Why didn’t they call me when the "incident" happened? Why did it take so long to bring him out? Why couldn’t they give a straight answer? It felt like they were waiting for something to wear off before returning my dog.At the end of this horrible experience, I was charged $130.89—for NOTHING except a heartworm test. Instead of receiving care, my dog left injured, stressed, and traumatized.🚨 STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. If you care about your pet’s well-being, do NOT take them here! This is not just bad service—this is negligence and possible abuse.
Mar 31, 2025 · Adriana CisnerosWe love taking our pets here, the staff and care our pets receive is outstanding. Highly recommend.
Dec 28, 2024 · Susan PoffThis place always has nice veterinarians, but they seem to churn through them quite fast. Always a different doctor, it seems. If you need an actual VET, don't go here. This is for routine per care only. Take your pet to someone with experience. So this is a big-box dog food store that pushes their wares on you from every angle. Every phone call, every check-in, sell sell sell. And the vets are "persuaded" to discourage raw diets. One vet actually suggested studies prove dogs need to eat grains 🫤 Well that's just disinformation. Dogs do not need to eat your canned processed non-human grade "food" made with mostly grains. Thanks but no thanks. That's what you get when dog-food manufacturers subsidize veterinary colleges 🤦
Feb 13, 2024 · Robert WalkerI was there to pick a friend up and his cat. The thing that really bothered me is, my friend is low income and they offered him a monthly plan for his cat, which sounded great! But they did not tell him that he had to have a credit card or debit card to do the plan! After they gave his cat, her check-up, shots, and lab work then they asked for a credit card. He said I am paying with cash. She informed him if he didn't have a credit card to put on his account, then he had to pay 781 dollars for the services, which he was quoted 184! As I said my friend is low income not rich! I asked the girl why was he not explained this from the start yet no answer! She assumed we were married and asked if I had one! ( she even mentioned me as the spouse, which I corrected) I gave my friend my debit card to use on there account so they could have their cat as it was indicated he could not have her til they produced a card or paid 781 dollars. So I say to all beware of this clinic! The plan is nice but be advised of ALL requirements before taking your pet there! Or be stuck with an outrageous bill!
