I’m someone who loves my chickens and ducks the same way I love my cats and dogs. Unfortunately, most vets will not see poultry. I am so thankful that I found Dr. Mandel! When I had a couple chickens fall ill, they were able to get us in quickly and get them the life saving medications they needed. Everyone recovered and was healthy again within a week. It really takes away a level of worry to know that if anything pops up in my backyard flock that I can’t treat on my own, I have a vet that will see them and will help! Dr. Mandel is very knowledgeable about birds, always takes his time with us and really seems to enjoy the time he spends with my Silkies and Seramas. They were also able to see my daughter’s beloved bearded dragon one day just a couple hours after I called when he suddenly became sick. Dr. Mandel was so kind and compassionate to my 14 year old who was very upset about her pet. He told her that if there was a heartbeat, there was hope and not to give up on dragon yet. After a couple appointments and a couple rounds of antibiotics, our dragon also fully recovered. We are so thankful for Dr. Mandel and the staff at Stephens City Animal Hospital for seeing the animals that most vets won’t! Their prices are also very reasonable! - Jessica Hunt
