VCA Calvert Veterinary Center Reviews
We have really enjoyed our experiences with VCA Calvert but wanted to especially call out the excellent services provided by Dr. Capella and Amanda at the front desk. Dr. Capella has been helping us navigate a complex medical condition in our cat Clara and exhibits an amazing amount of empathy and intelligence in helping us plan Clara's care.Amanda has been a breath of fresh air trying to help us get special diet food for Clara and ensuring we have what we need to help with Clara's condition but keeping her fed. I feel like she truly advocates for us and keeps us in mind while there is such a limited supply of the very restrictive wet food she needs.Dr. Capella and the team also saw us through one of the hardest parts of being a pet parent, the saying "goodbye" to our doggie Wade. The team again showed such care and empathy as we lost our dog to a rapidly progressing neurological disorder. We will continue to trust Dr. Cappella and the VCA team for as long as we have fur babies. Thank you for caring for our fur babies as though they were your own.
Apr 16, 2025 · Allyson BethMy pup Darcy has been seen at Calvert for the 6 years I’ve had her. Today Dr. Calvert, technician Lynn and student Dr Singh were so kind taking care of my girl with an upset stomach. I was brought directly to a room after calling in my arrival-just in case she had something contagious. Lynn made sure to take a thorough history of my baby, and even though I was working on a budget, when I told the tech she relayed to the doc so we could work together to put a treatment plan in place that would help us get on the right path to helping Darcy feel better as well as possibly getting some answers. At check out Aubrie made sure I had everything we needed, and Sabrina made sure to say hello and check in. Thanks ladies so much for always taking such wonderful care of my girl.
May 07, 2025 · Kay CortinaHad my first experience with VCA and I have to applaud them! Immediately upon walking in you see how beautiful their facility is. Very warm and inviting, let alone clean. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Our doctor was Monica Capella, DVM and she was extremely kind and knowledgeable.Having a hedgehog, it’s not an extremely average pet haha. She had all of the knowledge and finesse needed to assure me that I had the right doctor for my little girl.Admittedly we waited a bit too long to bring her in to get her nails trimmed. One was a bit too long and started growing inward. She did not make us feel judged at all and handled everything perfectly. We were sent home with great information and assurance that we can schedule any additional services whenever we want and not everything had to be done that day.I really appreciate all of the amazing customer service, knowledge, and care!
Oct 21, 2023 · TinaI've had one good and one bad experience. First visit was good, nothing overly special about it. Second visit was not good. Twenty minutes after my appointment was supposed to have started the receptionist called for the doctor again. Five minutes later the vet tech came out and wanted to weigh the dogs and play 20 questions with their record even though I expressed we were in a rush and nothing had changed. I asked if we would see the doctor and get the shots within 30 minutes of our original appointment time. I was told we would not. I needed to go to another appointment, so we left without the shots 35 minutes after our original appointment time. Not so much as a simple apology from anyone on staff even though the receptionist, the vet tech and eventually the doctor must have known they were over a half an hour late. There won't be a third visit.
Jan 29, 2025 · Michael CiminiWe recently had to put our 14 year old dog down. Never having to go through this process I had no idea what to expect. The entire process, while so emotional, was handled with such care and compassion by the staff. Many employees (Dr. Calvert, Ashleigh, and Aubrie) came into the room to say goodbye to Gigi and give their condolences to myself and my husband. Dr. Kap could not have been more amazing. She walked us through the entire process and was so supportive. We've been with Calvert for 14 years and have never had a bad experience. We're so grateful that we had such a wonderful vet to take care of Gigi throughout the years and at the end of life. Thank you.
