★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I adopted a kitten from IVHS about 5 days ago. VCA was able to get me in for a same-day appointment when I saw that she had mucus and stopped eating last night. They were very kind and helpful. All of the staff were friendly and seemed to really care. I was there for less than an hour. My kitten had an upper respiratory infection, received fluids and an antibiotic injection. She started feeling better a couple hours later. She’s now eating and acting like herself again, other than needing a bit more nap time as she recovers.
July 16 · Zoe DawsonThe team at VCA Yorba Regional Animal Hospital are absolute angels. My 15-year-old cat broke a canine tooth on Friday night, and they were able to get her in for an extraction the very next day. Within 24 hours, she was back to eating and drinking with enthusiasm. I had called 26 other hospitals on Saturday morning with no success, but VCA had her home and recovering before 8 p.m. I am beyond grateful to the doctors and techs for their compassion, speed, and expertise. Thank you all so much for taking care of my girl!
August 10 · Sara SWe had a good experience with the hospital. Our dog is 5 yrs old and was experiencing pyometra, which can be deadly. They identified it right away and a few days later we had them perform her hysterectomy. They were sensitive to our concerns and seemed to care for her well. She is healing up great two weeks later. While not cheap, their pricing seems to be comparable to other clinics.
August 09 · Jon PorterI had a terrible experience with this vet clinic. They completely misdiagnosed my dog, and her condition worsened significantly after our visit. It was clear they lacked the proper experience or attention to detail needed to provide quality care. What’s worse is when I called back, deeply concerned and hoping they would at least recheck her without charging again — considering it was their mistake — they refused and insisted on another full checkup fee. This felt like a complete scam. There was no accountability or compassion for the harm caused.I trusted them with my pet's health and they failed us. I do not recommend this clinic to anyone who truly cares about their pet.
June 24 · NovaOn Sunday, August 10th, 2025, my beloved dog Maya, my soul dog, my best friend, my emotional support, was euthanized under the “care” of Dr. Autumn Denison at VCA Yorba Regional. What should have been a sacred and compassionate goodbye became one of the most painful experiences of my life because of this veterinarian’s demeanor, attitude, and complete lack of emotional awareness. From the beginning, Dr. Denison would not stop talking. She dominated the room, filling Maya’s final moments with chatter that was cold, clinical, and deeply out of place. Most disturbing was her repeated abbreviation of the word euthanasia as “euth.” She described one case as “one of the most beautiful euths I’ve ever done,” before performing the procedure on Maya. To hear that kind of flippant shorthand while my dog was taking her last breaths was horrifying. It came across as careless, impersonal, and cruel, as if this was just routine business rather than the most sacred moment of my life.Dr. Denison also misrepresented her background when she pushed us toward end-of-life care, despite having never met Maya before that day. She told us she had “worked” at the cancer hospital where Maya had been treated, presenting herself as though she had insider expertise. Only later did I discover that her connection was limited to a one-year undergraduate internship. That is not the same as working there as a trained veterinarian. I feel misled, and it shakes my trust in her professionalism. The lack of sensitivity did not end there. When we later received Maya’s ashes, Dr. Denison grinned and told us we’d “love the urn” because it was “the cutest one.” That comment was profoundly insulting and tone-deaf. I did not want a “cute” urn. I wanted my dog back.I am not new to loss, nor to veterinary care. I understand that euthanasia is part of this profession. But tone, sensitivity, and compassion are not optional. They matter enormously, especially at the end of a beloved animal’s life. I will be haunted forever by the cold, inappropriate, and almost gleeful way Denison handled Maya’s final moments. To be clear, this review is about one veterinarian. Dr. Hong and the rest of the staff at VCA Yorba Regional have consistently shown us compassion and professionalism. If Maya’s sudden decline had aligned with Dr. Hong’s schedule, I know her passing would have been handled with the grace and respect she deserved, as was the case with our first dog, Chloe. But because of this experience, I cannot in good conscience return to VCA after over 12 years of loyalty with both Chloe and Maya. Adding insult to injury, Maya’s profile was deleted from my VCA account within minutes of her death. That small, thoughtless act, erasing her as if she never existed, was the final heartbreak.I strongly urge VCA to consider whether Dr. Denison’s behavior reflects the values you promise grieving families. No pet parent should endure the cold, careless treatment I experienced during the most important goodbye of my life.
