VEG ER for Pets Reviews
My dog came in on 5/2/25 around 5am she’s my disabled daughter’s dog . Miley was 15 yrs 7 months old she was a fighter but she was having issues breathing.i called ahead to make sure that they was able to see her and when I got there they took her right at the entrance from me and started screening her . Dr.Zachery Schmauch was such a caring person he gave me options and was really honest he didn’t pressure us to do anything he left the decision up to us . We stayed with Miley until my daughter decided it was time for her baby to rest in peace and go home to Jesus.which happened at around 9am Dr.Corinne Ross did the procedure and only when we were 100% sure and ready to say goodbye to our fur baby .everything about her health issues were explained 100% and we new that unfortunately it was time for her to go even with her under oxygen her breathing was not good .Veg Er made a very sad and difficult decision a peaceful one.Thank you for not rushing us or pressuring us .Anyone who needs a good place to go in a emergency head there I’ve been to several others and I highly recommend this one !! Thank you to the caring and patient doctors and staff
May 13, 2025 · Nadene ClarkeFirst time experience with VEG @ Commack, The staff was absolutely wonderful from Front Desk to Clinical, Having a Sick Pet as first time dog parents can be really nervewrecking. Walked in with my 1 year old Puppy with Bloody vomiting and bloody diarrhea @ 6:30am lethargic and not herself, They walk you through the process of Treatment plan options, they provide you a document with Estimates based on your pets Needs prior to rendering any services/interventions which made me feel comfortable since I was able to visualize a breakdown of what my Pup would/could need. My Pup was stabilized after being discharged from our original visit and worsened the same day that evening, So I called, Receptionist was very kind and understanding of my concerns, communicated with the doctors about the symptoms I described over the phone and told us to take her back in, we did around 10:30pm they were noticeably very Busy & They were still very welcoming and attentive, placed us in an exam room within 15-20 mins AFTER ensuring that my Pups vitals were stable and she didn’t need immediate attention. The Doctors/Nurses/Techs are really empathetic and caring of these sick/injured Pets I could feel it from their interaction with my Babygirl, she was hospitalized overnight and the IV Placement process which I was present for went very smoothly, great technique and ability to handle the Pets. I always noticed someone cleaning whether it was the floors/exam tables/ Rooms which to me is very important and makes me feel like my pet will be safe, clean, and sterility of instruments is appropriate to treat her. Veterinary Medicine as we all know is really expensive but I do feel like the estimates were fair based on the quality of the services they’re bringing you. Thank you all at VEG Commack for being so helpful, caring and Reassuring in such a stressful time for my Family & I !! Highly Recommend to anyonee looking for reliable emergency care for their Pet.
Jun 01, 2025 · Paola SpicerWe had a very scary experience with our 1&1/2 year old English bulldog. She was bleeding from her nose, crying, limping and had bruising on her stomach. We rushed her to VEG and from start to finish, the doctors and staff here were so kind and loving to our puppy. She spent almost 4 days there where she even had to receive a blood transfusion from a donor dog. I don’t know whose dog that is but that may have saved her life, so thank you . We thank found out she has an autoimmune disease. I will forever be grateful to this staff for all they have done. They kept in communication the whole time and we could call whenever we wanted and update, night or day. We even just popped in whenever we wanted to visit her. I think one of the staff even stayed in her enclosure and read her book just to keep Roxy company. You never want to be in these kinds of situations but if you have to this is the place to go!
Feb 19, 2025 · Mary YurgelOur dog showed signs of a blockage. Our local vet said he didn't have the equipment for the tests that may be needed. He recommended we go to VEG. They took our pup right away and knew how to help her without unnecessary expensive tests. We are very grateful for their quick, gentle, and knowledgeable response.
Mar 22, 2025 · Deanna CaliI can't say enough about how grateful I am for the outstanding care my dog Hershey received at Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG). From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the receptionist, who immediately rushed us to the treatment room. A team of compassionate, skilled professionals jumped into action, treating Hershey with the utmost care and attention.I instantly felt reassured that Hershey was in the best hands. They helped keep him calm and relaxed, which in turn eased my own anxiety. Dr. Dan Loiacono was exceptional—he spent so much time with me, truly listened, and made me feel like my dog genuinely mattered to them.I returned two days later, and the service was even better than the first time. Every staff member takes pride in their work, and it shows. They all clearly love animals and treat your pet as if it were their own.I only wish Dr. Dan could be Hershey’s regular vet! If your pet ever faces an emergency, trust me—bringing them here will give you peace of mind. Your pet will be in the best hands.
