When considering Vetco Vaccination Clinic, it's essential to understand its specific role in pet healthcare. One customer review highlights both the benefits and potential drawbacks of the clinic's model. The review notes that the experience was "good" and the vets were "attentive and helpful." This positive feedback confirms that the staff provides a professional and caring service for the specific tasks they are there to perform, such as administering vaccines. However, the same customer also points out a significant limitation: the clinic cannot prescribe antibiotics or other medications for conditions discovered during an exam, requiring them to seek out another veterinarian and pay for an additional exam fee. This serves as a critical point of clarification for potential clients: Vetco is a vaccination clinic, not a full-service hospital equipped to diagnose and treat a wide range of illnesses.
The other review, while not specifically about the Vetco clinic, is about the Petco store itself, and highlights the company's commitment to supporting rescue organizations and providing great customer service. This general positive impression of the parent company, Petco, can influence a customer's trust and overall experience with the in-store clinic. The positive feedback about the store's tidy environment, well-stocked merchandise, and friendly employees creates a welcoming atmosphere that extends to the veterinary clinic within.
So, what makes Vetco worth choosing for a South Carolina pet owner? It is an excellent choice for a very specific purpose: routine, preventative care. For pet owners who have a healthy pet and simply need to get vaccinations, a microchip, or parasite prevention, Vetco offers an affordable and highly convenient solution. The ability to get these essential services without a traditional exam fee can lead to significant cost savings. The appointment-required system means you can get in and out quickly, which is a huge advantage for busy people. Vetco fills a crucial niche in the pet healthcare landscape, providing a stepping stone to full-service care and making basic wellness more accessible. For a pet owner who has a long-term relationship with a traditional veterinarian for complex needs, Vetco serves as a great supplement for routine, annual tasks. It's not a replacement for a full vet, but it's a valuable resource for affordable, efficient, and professional preventive care.

Vetco Vaccination Clinic Reviews
The experience was good and the vets were attentive and helpful. However my pets birthdates were put in wrong and I don’t like that I am paying over $100 for an exam and vaccines for my pet that given he need antibiotics for something found within the exam, the Petco vet can not write me a prescription for those antibiotics. Therefore I’m supposed to go pay another vet for another exam just to get the prescription I need. That is ridiculous and needs to be addressed and changed ASAP!! That is a problem.
February 24 · Gina YatesBeing a rescue foster, I prefer to support Petco because of their dedication to helping rescue organizations. I also understand the importance of great customer service. Each time that I have been in this Petco, the employees have been very polite & helpful. At one visit, I was searching for a specific feed for my chickens. While I know that Petco doesn't have a lot to offer pet chickens, the nice young man was able to assist me in finding exactly what I needed. The cashiers are always pleasant & prompt; the store is always tidy; the animal habitats are clean with fresh water; and the merchandise is always well stocked. It is an overall enjoyable shopping experience.
August 29 · Alicia HarperI love the convenience of bringing my pets to Petco vaccination clinics because the weekend hours work really well for me. My only complaint is that the check-in process takes far too long. That is NOT THE FAULT of the employee working. I think your system is slow to respond and too complicated.I also had to wait almost 40 minutes beyond my appointment time and there was nowhere to sit and wait. I would suggest Petco put out some chairs or temporary benches or something. I am unable to stand for that long and had to sit on the store floor.Outside of those two issues, all of the employees were kind, cheerful, and considerate, and the visit part of the trip was done efficiently but still with care from the doctor and her vet tech. They were gentle and sweet to my very scared cat and got her exam and shots done quickly so she could go back in her carrier.
September 12 · Alyson D'AlessandroThey were all scared of my dog an didn't even try to help me or be his friend so they could help him the vet stayed behind a counter an wouldn't even come out
