Veterinary Emergency Group Introduce
For pet owners in Jacksonville, Florida, a pet emergency can be a terrifying and stressful experience. When the unexpected happens, having a reliable, compassionate, and accessible emergency veterinary hospital is a top priority. Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is a facility that is redefining the emergency vet experience with a focus on both expert medical care and a customer-first mentality. Their mission, as stated in their company ethos, is "helping people and their pets when they need it most." This is evident in every aspect of their operation, from their open floor plan to their commitment to allowing pet owners to stay with their animals throughout the entire treatment process. As one customer noted after bringing in a stray kitten, the staff was "amazing from the beginning," acting quickly and making them feel "comfortable and confident in their abilities." The VEG approach is a radical departure from the traditional vet experience, creating an environment that is less sterile and more collaborative. They understand that a pet is a cherished family member, and they empower owners to be an active part of their pet's care. This is a crucial element of their service and a major reason why they are a trusted and highly recommended resource for pet emergencies in the Jacksonville area. The deep compassion shown to a family who lost their cat, Romeo, further exemplifies this philosophy. The staff not only provided expert medical care but also gave the family time and space to say goodbye, a gesture for which the owner will be "forever grateful." This emotional support is just as important as the medical treatment, and it is a cornerstone of the VEG experience.
The philosophy at VEG is centered on transparency, communication, and a shared care model. The hospital is an "open space so you can stay with your baby the entire time," which is a revolutionary concept in veterinary medicine. This feature alone, as one reviewer passionately noted, "makes this clinic so worth going to." It eliminates the anxiety of being separated from your pet during a crisis and allows owners to be fully involved in their pet’s treatment. The staff's quick action, and their willingness to explain the diagnosis and plan of action, is another key component of their service. The team at VEG is trained to be transparent about costs and treatment options, ensuring pet owners can make informed decisions. This is highlighted in a review where a pet owner appreciated that the staff were "transparent in all of the pricing." Their commitment to a seamless transition is also a major benefit; they forward medical records to the pet's regular veterinarian, ensuring continuity of care. This collaborative approach, combined with a deep well of empathy, is what truly sets Veterinary Emergency Group apart from other emergency veterinary services in Florida. They are not just treating an animal; they are supporting a family through a difficult and often traumatic event, and for that, they are highly regarded in the community.
The location and accessibility of Veterinary Emergency Group are paramount, especially in a time-sensitive emergency. The hospital is strategically located at 4507 Town Center Pkwy, Jacksonville, FL 32246, USA. Veterinary Emergency Group Reviews
We brought in a tiny little orange stray kitten that had been playing hide and seek with my wife and I for the past 36+ hrs.. Luckily, VEG happened to be the nearest 24hr pet ER to my home in Arlington. The staff was amazing from the beginning. As soon as we arrived they brought us to an exam table to start evaluating the kitten. The Doc gave us her diagnose and plan of action very quickly. The entire staff made us feel comfortable and confident in their abilities. The price was also much more reasonable than I thought it was going to be. After a little while and fluids, we were sent home with meds and instruction for our new addition. They also told us to make a follow up with our normal Veterinary Office. After finding out the name of the clinic and Dr., they told us that they were going to forward a copy of the medical records so the Dr. has them when we arrive. Couldn’t be happier and will recommend over and over.
Jul 21, 2025 · Dave GeorgeOur sweet cat Romeo, was suddenly very sick. We rushed him in and the staff here acted quickly and with so much compassion. They got him comfortable, ran tests and took such good care of my senior boy. Unfortunately, it was Romeo's time to go. The staff let us know in the kindest way. They gave us time and space to say goodbye and I will forever be grateful for that opportunity. As someone that's regularly involved in rescue and foster I'm far too familiar with loosing animals and I know that you're not always given the chance to hold, love and cuddle them when they pass. I couldn't have asked for a better place to be, in a quiet room, petting his soft fur as he moved on very peacefully.I'm heart broken but so very thankful for this clinic and the care and compassion they showed when my husband and I needed it the most. If you need Emergency care for your pet I whole heartedly recommend this Veterinary clinic. The clinic is a huge open space so you can stay with your baby the entire time. You can be with them through everything they need done. This alone makes this clinic so worth going to. I cannot possibly find enoughwords to describe how thankful I am for the wonderful staff hereWe chose to bring Romeo home and they placed him in a bag for us and gave us some foot print stamps.Rest easy my sweet little one eyed cat.4•20•2014 - 6•24•2025
Jun 29, 2025 · Bethany ScullyHighly recommend VEG for pet emergencies. Took our 10 yr old doggo in at almost midnight Thursday, bleeding profusely from a ruptured growth in her chest that was scheduled to be removed by regular vet later this week. From receptionists to vet assistants/techs to Dr. Florens who did a complicated, delicate surgery, I was impressed by everyone’s skill and compassion. Their care, for our dog, the well equipped facility and their ongoing communication throughout the entire night and following day was the best I’ve ever experienced. Our pet’s future health is understandably tenuous, but she is alive and recuperating thanks to VEG—a true asset to the Jacksonville community.
Jul 05, 2025 · Judith BilskyReview for Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) – Dr. Lee and TeamOn April 6th, I had to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to my beloved cat Eleanor, who had been my companion for over 9 years. It was one of the most difficult and emotional days of my life—but Veterinary Emergency Group, and especially Dr. Lee and the entire staff, helped make it as gentle and compassionate as possible.Eleanor was diagnosed with gastrointestinal lymphoma that day, and despite multiple vet visits leading up to that point, it was VEG who gave me clear, honest answers and the emotional support I so badly needed. I was alone—my parents were out of town and my partner lives long distance—but I never once felt unsupported or unseen. The team made me feel incredibly strong for choosing to let Eleanor go with peace and dignity, rather than prolonging her suffering with treatments she would have hated.Dr. Lee spoke to me with kindness, clarity, and empathy. Every staff member I encountered treated Eleanor like she mattered—and treated me like I mattered. Afterward, I received a handwritten card in the mail filled with personal, thoughtful messages from the team. It was one of the most touching gestures I’ve ever received during a time of grief. They gave me space when I needed it, comfort when I couldn’t hold it together, and reassurance that the decision I made was one of love—not loss. I will never forget how they helped me carry that moment with grace and strength. If you are ever in an emergency situation with your pet, I hope you find your way to Veterinary Emergency Group. They are not just medical professionals—they are deeply compassionate people who honor the bond between you and your animal with tenderness and respect.Thank you, VEG. And thank you, Dr. Lee. Eleanor’s last chapter was held in such loving hands.
Apr 23, 2025 · Faith SmithWhen we got home from the dog park, Lucy's paw was very swollen, and I was concerned that she may have broken it. I took her to Blue Pearl ER (they are the closest), but they had a 2 hour wait and suggested I try Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) at the Town Center. Only 8 minutes away, I thought I'd try it.WOW ARE THEY GREAT! The treatment happens out in the open where owners stay with their pets, which helps everyone to stay calm. Dr. Finney is an Auburn graduate (WAR EAGLE!). She worked with me on treatment/pricing and I was very comfortable. I highly recommend this place!Thankfully Lucy's paw isn't broken; she was, however, bitten by some sort of insect and is having a reaction.Fast, friendly, and caring staff. Seriously, these folks are GREAT!
