Exotic Bird Hospital Reviews
I took my Cockatoo, Izzy, up for an emergency appointment. I'm deaf. I can hear sounds, sometimes but I can't understand words. It can be very difficult for me to communicate with people and vice versa. I have never been treated with such dignity and respect as I was at this office. Everyone has gone above and beyond to help me and make sure I know what's going on with Izzy. She's very sick and has to stay for a little while. Dr. Colbert is Awesome and messages me every day! He doesn't rush it either. He's very thorough and always answers and replies to my questions! I wish I knew everyone's names but I couldn't hear them. To The lady at the front desk who went and got a board to write things on at check in, to the tech that talked slow and loud in the room so I could read lips and figure out what he was saying and to Dr. Colbert that offered to message me updates because he knew I couldn't hear over the phone and to everyone else that's helped Izzy and gone above and beyond for me, I Thank you all so much and for taking such great and thorough care of my Izzy!
Mar 19, 2025 · Michelle NewmanWe drove from Savannah for an emergency appt with our older bearded dragon and I am so thankful we did. The staff, all the way around, from the front desk to just people we passed in the halls, to the techs were so amazingly kind. The doctor... I cannot say enough about the doctor. He came in, he was so kind and sweet. He spent so much time with us, answering all of our questions, never making us feel silly or inadequate about anything we asked, informing us of things we didn't know or think to ask. He explained everything in a manner that we absolutely could understand. I felt comfortable and at ease through the entire appointment process.Everyone in the clinic that handled our Beardie was gentle. They didn't try to nickel & dime us to death, explaining every cost for every procedure that needed to be done as we went along, which for an exotic clinic, I felt was extremely reasonably priced.I cannot say enough good about this clinic & the entire staff.I do not care about the drive from Savannah to Jacksonville in the least. This clinic will be the only place I take my Beardie from now on.
Jul 19, 2025 · Tesi McGillLove this place!!! They cared for our guinea pig as if he were their own. The doctors and staff are top-notch, and you can tell this is not just a job for them, but truly a passion. Their prices are very reasonable, and Dr. Smith even discounted part of our bill because of the extensive amount of time our baby had to stay there. They work so hard and are incredibly devoted, and I received many calls to update us well after hours from the doctors who were caring for our guinea pig. If not for the EBH, our baby would not still be with us. Thank you Dr. Smith and all of the wonderful staff at the Exotic Bird Hospital! May God bless you all!
Dec 11, 2024 · Christine RI had an amazing first vet experience with Dr.Stevenson and vet tech Jammy were so patient with my questions. They explained everything thoroughly and put me (and my bird) at ease! The entire staff loved on my boy and made us feel welcome. Very reasonable prices for exotic care, and so nice that they have toys/perches/food in-house! Will definitely be back for future care, beak/nail trims, and even toys!
Mar 30, 2024 · Mayia GustafsonI am really disturbed that Exotic Bird Hospital is associated with Phoenix Landing Foundation. After finding Clyde on your Instagram page, I went to Phoenix Landing’s website, where he was still listed as available. I applied to adopt him and followed every single step they required.I took all their mandatory classes, submitted all my information, passed my home visit with zero issues, and was fully approved to foster/adopt. Then, the second I showed interest in Clyde, everything changed. I was approved for any bird... except Clyde.During my home visit, Sharon, Phoenix Landing’s foster, immediately started making excuses as to why Clyde “might not be a good fit.” None of them were valid. My whole family was present, and it became clear that she wasn’t going to let him go but we were still willing to try. We wanted to save this little guy and really give him a FOREVER HOME.After the visit, she ghosted me for days, refusing to respond to my messages or emails. So I emailed Ann, the founder of Phoenix Landing, asking what was going on... Sharon finally responded but not with answers. Instead, she told me that Clyde was “not going to a home with dogs,” and that it was “not up for discussion.”Excuse me? Sharon has cats. So how exactly are my senior english bulldogs, who sleep all day, any more of a threat than her cats? This makes absolutely no sense.I reached out to Ann again, asking for clarification because dogs were NEVER an issue until now. Her response after days? That Clyde “opted for his prospective family.”Let’s be real... birds do not “opt” for adopters. That is not how adoption works. This was nothing more than a pathetic attempt to cover up what was really happening.Sharon is hoarding birds. She has two of her own, plus all the fosters most of which are sick, on medication, or deemed "special needs." She calls herself "The Grey Lady"... Meanwhile, Clyde, a perfectly healthy 3 year old bird, was never actually available. Oh, and let’s not forget her cats... maybe she forgot that she mentioned them while she was at my house. If you are considering adopting, think twice before trusting any bird Phoenix Landing claims to have available. Birds listed as “available” may never actually be up for adoption. If you are thking about having to rehome your bird I highly recommend finding another place that will actually do the right thing and rehome your bird. And to Clyde’s original owner if you ever find this, I hope you know the truth. You gave him up expecting he would get a second chance at a loving home. But he never even got the opportunity. Instead of being adopted into a real family, he was taken in by a foster who was never going to let him go.I highly recommend that Exotic Bird Hospital rethinks their association with Phoenix Landing Foundation. If you or anyone wants more info and actual emails or anything I would be more than happy to share them.-----Responding to your replyI truly hope Clyde does get adopted out but let’s be honest, it’s not going to happen. He is no longer available, and I highly doubt he ever will be. Sharon will never allow him to be adopted, and you probably already know this.Clyde is a young, healthy bird, and the "no dogs" excuse was nothing more than a weak attempt to block me from adopting him. I know how to properly care for a bird like Clyde. Anyone who actually understands birds knows that they can be nervous, they can fly, and they need time to adjust. That’s what responsible adopters do you earn their trust, make them comfortable, and build a relationship. Instead of letting me do that, Phoenix Landing shut me out with a fabricated excuse.I would invite any one of you to come to my home and see for yourself to see exactly where Clyde would have lived and the life he could have had. If this was truly about his best interest, he would be here right now.Maybe Phoenix Landing has done good work for some birds, but not in this case. This was a blatant lie and a deliberate cover-up. Clyde was never truly available, and the way this was handled was wrong
