Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy of CNY specializes in a highly focused yet profoundly impactful area of animal health: spinal manipulative therapy. This specialized field is often referred to as animal chiropractic, focusing on the nervous system and musculoskeletal system to restore proper function and reduce pain. The core service offered is:
- Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy (VSMT): This is the primary service, involving precise, gentle adjustments to the joints of the spine and extremities. The goal of VSMT is to improve nerve function, reduce pain, restore proper motion, and enhance the overall well-being of the animal. It is often used to address conditions such as:
- Back and neck pain
- Lameness or limping
- Difficulty with movement (e.g., jumping, climbing stairs)
- Disc issues (e.g., intervertebral disc disease)
- Nerve impingement or pinched nerves
- Post-surgical rehabilitation support (in conjunction with traditional veterinary care)
- Performance enhancement for athletic animals
- Management of chronic conditions like arthritis
- Geriatric pet support to improve comfort and mobility
- Consultation and Assessment: Before any treatment, a thorough assessment is conducted. This involves reviewing the pet's medical history, discussing symptoms with the owner, and performing a detailed physical and neurological examination to identify areas of concern and determine if VSMT is an appropriate course of action.
- Integration with Traditional Veterinary Care: Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy of CNY operates in a complementary role, often working in conjunction with a pet's primary veterinarian. This collaborative approach ensures that pets receive comprehensive care, combining the benefits of conventional medicine with specialized musculoskeletal treatments.
It is important to note that this practice specializes in VSMT and is typically sought after when traditional veterinary approaches might not fully address musculoskeletal or neurological issues, or when owners are looking for complementary therapies.

Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy of CNY Reviews
A dear friend had an incident with her dog that we considered could be due to a pinched nerve or injury causing the dog to not eat for many days.(Yes, a vet was seen)When I called Dr. Arrington, it was at a point where we needed immediate service. Although he was not available for immediate service, he took the time to speak to both of us and gave recommendations of other animal spinal doctors that might have availability. We are very thankful and gracious for his time and appreciate that he spent time pointing us in the right direction. I do hope we never need this particular care in the future, but if so, we know who we are calling. Thank you Dr. Arrington!!

Jan 30, 2024 · BRI myself have been receiving chiropractic care for fifty years since I was 18 years old. I know something about chiropractic. Dr. Arrington is excellent and though I can only give him five stars here he deserves many more. Everything about the experience with Dr. Arrington and your horses is the best it could possibly be. I am so lucky I am a client of his.
