Veterinary Surgery Specialists Introduce
For pet owners in Wauwatosa and across the Wisconsin region whose beloved companions require complex surgical intervention, Veterinary Surgery Specialists offers a critical resource right in the heart of the Milwaukee area. Unlike a general practice veterinarian, this clinic is dedicated entirely to Specialty Surgery and advanced Diagnosis And Treatment for small animals (dogs and cats) facing complicated orthopedic or soft tissue conditions. This focus ensures that pets receive care from a highly experienced and board-certified veterinary surgeon.
The practice is led by Dr. Harpreet Singh, DVM, DACVS, a board-certified specialist in Small Animal Surgery who has deep roots in Wisconsin, having attended both undergraduate and veterinary school at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Dr. Singh's extensive training, including an internship and a three-year residency at Tufts University, and his board-certification by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) in 2016, means he brings a level of expertise often required for the most challenging cases. His experience spans thousands of surgeries in various complex fields, including orthopedic, soft tissue, and even neurosurgery, making him a respected figure in the state's veterinary community.
The core philosophy of Veterinary Surgery Specialists revolves around surgical excellence combined with genuine Compassion Services. The team understands the stress and anxiety that come with a pet requiring complex surgery, whether it is for a traumatic injury, a congenital issue, or the removal of a cancerous tumor. Their commitment is not just to the technical precision of the procedure, but to the full journey of the pet and owner, which includes clear, thorough communication about treatment options, risks, recovery, and prognosis.
Customer reviews consistently highlight this dual focus on skill and empathy. One thankful owner described the care for their puppy's FHO surgery as "Absolutely Outstanding," praising Dr. Singh for his clear explanations and patience. Another customer, whose 9-year-old cat underwent a complicated cancer removal, noted the "remarkable skill and precision" of the surgery alongside the staff’s "kindness and professionalism." This combination of expert surgical technique and heartfelt support is what makes Veterinary Surgery Specialists a trusted referral center for advanced Care For Pets across Wisconsin.

They offer advanced Soft tissue Surgery for both dogs and cats.
- Specialty Surgery: All procedures performed fall under Specialty Surgery, requiring advanced training beyond general veterinary practice. The team is equipped to handle complex and intricate Surgery For Dogs And Cats, ensuring the highest level of surgical care and post-operative monitoring.
- Diagnosis And Treatment: Before any procedure, the team provides thorough surgical consultations, detailed diagnostics (often in collaboration with the referring DVM), and the development of a tailored treatment plan. This ensures that the surgery is the correct course of action and that all pre-surgical risks are minimized.
- Specialty Care Services: The entire process, from consultation to post-operative follow-up, is handled with the level of attention expected from a specialty referral practice, emphasizing precise surgical technique and superior patient outcomes.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- Absolutely Outstanding Care from Dr. Singh!I cannot thank Dr. Singh and his team enough for the incredible care they provided to my puppy. From the moment we walked into the Veterinary Surgery Specialist clinic, they treated us with such kindness, professionalism, and genuine compassion. He explained everything clearly, answered all my questions with patience, and walked us through the treatment and recovery plan in detail. The FHO surgery went smoothly, and my puppy is now thriving thanks to his expert care. - Our 9-year-old cat, Starr, recently underwent a complicated cancer removal surgery performed by Dr. Harpreet Singh at Veterinary Surgery Specialists. From start to finish, the care he received was exceptional. After discovering a lump on Starr, we brought him to Dr. Singh and his team, who immediately impressed us with their clear, thorough communication and genuine compassion. They explained every detail of the procedure and its risks, and the surgery - which required large margins on a small cat - was handled with remarkable skill and precision.Just as impressive as the surgical expertise was the kindness and professionalism of the entire staff. Everyone we encountered was patient, attentive, and clearly dedicated to the animals they care for.Starr is now recovering well, and we’re incredibly grateful for the excellent care he received. We wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Singh and his team to anyone in need of advanced veterinary care. ♥️ July 29 · CJ Johnson
- This location was recommended by our primary vet for TPLO surgery in our dogs back right leg. Dr Singh and his staff were amazing throughout the entire process. During the consultation they were able to answer all of our questions very thoroughly without feeling rushed. We absolutely felt like the doctor and his staff cared about our dog’s comfort and seemed to show her genuine affection making her much more relaxed during the visits. Not something you get from a busier place like WVRC. She’s 2 months post op and almost 100% recovered with no complications. Would definitely recommend Dr Singh and his staff for any of your pets surgical needs. November 01 · Matt V
- I could not be any happier with the service that my dog received. I brought him in for a consult. I went in to the appointment very confused and Dr. Singh and his team did an amazing job working with me. They listened to all my concerns and fears and never rushed me. I have a plan for how to keep my dog comfortable, and have a better understanding of my dog's outlook. Dr. Singh and his entire team are fantastic, made me feel welcome, and I would highly recommend to anyone who is trying to navigate surgical options for their pet. April 18 · Natalie Benavides
- I cannot say enough positive things about this practice, the staff, and Dr. Singh. We had a terrible situation where our cat developed a urinary obstruction the weekend before Xmas. He was admitted to the WVRC but both of their surgeons were out for the holiday. We were told to start trying to find private practices with availability. We called many offices which were closed for the weekend. The emergency vet recommended Dr. Singh who she had gone to dental school with. On his website his work cell was listed so we sent a desperate text/plea. He responded right away and said he could fit him in Monday 12/23 literally the day before the holiday. The surgery went well and he saw him back for two follow ups to remove stitches and check for strictures. We were impressed with the thoroughness of his practice and level of communication. His attention to detail and follow ups were perfect. The office is clean and his staff is helpful and responsive as well. We have busy schedules and they worked with us to try and make that work as well. I would absolutely recommend this practice and surgeon. I trust them immensely and am very grateful for their help in our time of need. April 09 · Taylor DeLaura
