★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Excellent medical care for my birds. There are other good bird vets in the south peninsula area, but Wildwood bird Vets tend to be much more "human-friendly" than other bird specific Vets south of RWC. They also offer a good selection of foods at reasonable prices, and have a decent selection of toys that my Conures love. Highly recommend this Vet, tho note they tend to be popular as they are the best, so if you can, plan ahead for visits. Cancelations have happened, but the norm seems to be booking at least several weeks out.
August 29 · Matt PI could not recommend Wildwood enough. Very knowledgeable staff, accommodating and detail oriented. From the very moment I called them to book an appointment for an emergency situation they had vital advice to keep my pet safe and healthy. They showed me how to administer medicine and gave me advice on how to properly care for my pet’ environment while she’s sick. Worth every penny.
March 16 · Alexandra KroupaI’m so disappointed. My chameleon passed away during his stay at wildwood. He was staying from May 31 - June 7. They never called to let me know he wasn’t doing well or that they would do treatment. They noticed he wasn’t doing well June 2nd and I didn’t get a call until just now to say he passed. My chameleon had a wound that wasn’t healing but they tried to say it could have been MBD even though he has been getting better after receiving calcium for over a month. I had put on the paperwork to call if treatment for anything was necessary. They just “assumed” since I was on vacation that they shouldn’t call me. If I had known I would have come home immediately or approved any treatment necessary for my baby. This is a picture of my chameleon right before I dropped him off (right after I gave him his medication and food) and I have a video of him the night before I took him to wildwood of him climbing all over me. When I would feed him I actually couldn’t get him to stay still. So the fact that the next thing I’m hearing is that my chameleon is dead is unfathomable to me. Very unprofessional and will never be coming here again other than to pick up my dead loved one.Edit: I added more photos of my chameleon climbing all over my hands two nights before I dropped him off at wildwood. Active. Eyes open. On the road to a better life. Little did I know he’d end up dead a week later under the care of the doctors at Wildwood Veterinary Hospital.
June 06 · Julieanne DurrReally friendly staff, and you can tell they all really care for every animal that comes through. Dr. Chris was the absolute BEST. I am so happy I came.I ended up having to put one of my scaley children on antibiotics and Iris was so helpful in teaching me how to administer the shots.A big thank you to everyone there! I truly am thankful for their kindness.
June 05 · Sophia ParkThe worst Avian vet. Both my birds died at in their care, unnecessarily I might add. They have a nice receptionist and some assistants, but Dr. Sanders is condescending, rude, and lacks all compassion. With my second bird, I brought her in for an emergency appointment. I had been in several times before concerned about an egg laying issue and when I brought her in this time, listless and sitting on the bottom of the cage, she was taken to the back for about 5 hours. I sat in the office and even though only one other patient came into the office for an appointment, Dr. Sanders didn't meet with me for even five minutes to find out what was going on. He relied on his receptionist to convey what I said. It was utterly negligent on his part. Later they gave me my bird and some antibiotics and said the bloodwork would be back on Wed and they would call with results (this was on Sat). They gave me no instructions like to keep her warm or anything. I just knew to do that. On Tuesday, my bird died. On Wed, I expected a call with the bloodwork. No one called. On Saturday, still not a word so I called and asked about the bloodwork. The young woman said, "no one has called you?" I said "no". Then she put me on hold and came back and said the Dr. had not written up the results yet - aka, they totally dropped the ball. So I asked if I could speak with Dr. Sanders and she said he was busy. And I said well can he call me after he finishes. And she literally laughed and said, "Yea, that's not going to happen." It goes on from there, but suffice to say, if your bird has anything serious, you should run in the opposite direction of this place and the incompetent doctors!
