This breadth of products ensures that most pet owners can find what they're looking for under one roof, from specialized exotic fish to everyday dog essentials.
- Convenient In-Store Services: The availability of a Self-Serve Dog Wash adds a practical element for dog owners, providing a dedicated space for cleaning pets. Furthermore, the regular VIP Petcare Clinics offer accessible and affordable preventive veterinary care, a significant benefit for busy pet parents.
- Community Engagement: Pet Supermarket actively participates in pet adoptions, working with local rescues to help animals find homes. This commitment to animal welfare resonates with pet-loving communities and provides an opportunity for locals to adopt.
- Exotic Fish Selection: As noted in customer feedback, the Homestead location occasionally stocks "fairly exotic fish," appealing to aquarium enthusiasts looking for unique additions to their tanks.
- Accessibility and Parking: Its location on N Homestead Blvd offers easy access and typically sufficient parking, making trips to the store convenient and stress-free.
- Potential for Savings: Like many larger pet supply retailers, Pet Supermarket often runs promotions, loyalty programs, and deals, which can help local customers save on their regular pet purchases.
However, it is important to address customer feedback regarding the care of live animals. While the store offers a wide selection, a review highlighted concerns about the well-being of some reptiles, specifically mentioning a dead and unwell bearded dragon and a perception that employees lacked adequate skillset for specialized animal care. This suggests that while the store aims to provide a comprehensive selection, potential customers interested in live animals, particularly reptiles, fish, and mammals, may wish to observe the enclosures carefully and ask specific questions about animal health and care practices. This feedback underscores the importance of customers exercising their own judgment, especially when purchasing live animals.

Pet Supermarket Reviews
I come here all the time to pick up supplies for my dogs and my daughters bearded dragon. We saw these reptiles in their enclosure at the Pet Supermarket in Homestead. One of them was dead and the other one looked unwell. My granddaughter advised the employee at the front and she was told that the reptile was alive that it was moving around several days ago. Seriously? She immediately told us what the employee said and my daughter, husband and I went to the front to advise him that the reptile was infact dead. He said that the reptiles were not well and they didn't know why. Truth be told the fish, reptiles and mammals are not well cared for by the employees who do not have the skill set to take care of them.
