Petco Reviews
I usually come to Petco when I am in need of things for my cockatiel. The products are a little pricey, but are more or less good quality. Some of them weren’t always compatible with my bird or my cage, though, and I’ve seen Petco sell things that are actually quite dangerous for birds (ex. Those soft hanging bird beds that birds can get their nails caught up in). I have also found another pet store that sells bigger quantities of seed for a lower price. Basically, Petco is good, but it isn’t the cheapest or most reliable and I wouldn’t rank it as my first option for pet supplies. The employees are polite, and I really don’t have any comments to make about them. I have a few about the store itself, though. It can be a bit dirty and smelly, but I understand cleanliness is hard to achieve when your place is full of animals. The animals don’t seem to be under the best care, but that’s how most pet stores are, unfortunately. It’s truly a dilemma; buying these animals and bringing them home will give them a better life, but will also grant more revenue to the corporations that put them in these conditions. I just ask you to be mindful. 3/5.
Jun 23, 2025 · Hana EstalillaGot the mealworms that I needed to get. One of the staff guys there, Shawn, helped us with petting the guinea pigs and educating us on taking care of them. Nice place to explore other pet options.
Jun 30, 2025 · Andrew LeI brought some goldfish, The young boy helped me to explain a lot of experience, his service attitude is the best, I will come again
Feb 05, 2025 · Sunny MovingThe groomers here are top notch. My pup is an absolute freak maniac with getting her nails trimmed so I need to bring her somewhere to get them. They’re fantastic with the dogs and super patient with her. I’ve had a few (can’t remember their names) but Miguel did a great job most recently. He gave me some pointers on my dog and how we can help her react better next time. I hope he stays and people tip their groomer because the prices are already very affordable
Mar 08, 2025 · Tori SDisappointed with our experience today. The main reason I brought my Lab mix in was to have her nails trimmed and filed—something I usually have done at the vet, but was hoping to get done better and more affordably at PETCO. I appreciated that they were able to accommodate us earlier than our original appointment, but unfortunately, they weren’t able to complete the nail trim at all, saying my dog was “too nervous.”This was surprising, as she’s always been very calm and cooperative both at home and at the vet. She doesn’t even flinch when getting poked at the vet. I wasn’t given any clear explanation of what made her “too nervous” or what steps were taken to try, and it didn’t feel like much effort was made. When I picked her up, I was told to just keep bringing her in for baths, and that eventually they might be able to do her nails. That’s not a solution I’m comfortable with, especially at $55 for just a bath.I had higher expectations from a professional grooming service, and unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this location based on our experience.
