Petco Reviews
I go outta my way to shop at this store because I have had great experiences here. The one time I had a minor issue… it was addressed and corrected and I haven’t had an issue since. People are so quick to come on here and leave a terrible review for what they think was a negative experience when they in all honesty don’t get what they want or an employee won’t bend the rules for them. But to actually say outlandish accusations that defame one’s character is dangerous. I hope upper management protects their employees and knows just how caring these people are. It’s sad we live in a world where people can so quickly try to ruin peoples reputations because the employee won’t break the rules and jeopardize their job so they get what they want. I hope karma comes back around swiftly. Keep up the good work guys! And thank you Rob for always going out of your way to check stock in the back or assist us in any way you can. We appreciate you so much!!Rocky our red blooded beardie we bought from you is doing great! And Blu will be in soon for his nail trimming!
Mar 23, 2025 · Nancy MReview for Doug, Dog Trainer at Union City PetcoWe can't say enough good things about Doug, the dog trainer at the Union City Petco. He has been the most helpful and knowledgeable trainer we've ever worked with. From my experience, dog school is just as much about training the humans as it is the dogs, and Doug works well with both humans and dogs.We recently rescued our Shih Tzu, (Count Basie) and Doug has helped us set a strong foundation. His guidance has been incredibly effective and compassionate. He's helped us with everything from basic commands and loose leash walking to preparing for guests and managing anxiety around fireworks. Most importantly, he gave us actionable, thoughtful advice on how to handle our dog's reactivity and lunging during walks.Every session has been a positive experience, and we're so grateful for Doug's support, patience, and expertise. This class has made a real difference in our lives, and we highly recommend Doug to anyone looking for a trustworthy and effective trainer!
Jun 28, 2025 · Blossom Santiago9/12/2024Yesterday afternoon, I bought three saltwater fish called Damselfish. Unfortunately, I did not inspect their physical condition before placing them in the tank. I took some photos of them while still in the bag. Once they were in the tank, I began filming and noticed an issue with one of the new fish. Its tail was broken and discolored, with a red spot on one side. Alarmed, I recognized these as signs of a disease. I already have eight healthy fish in my 40-gallon saltwater tank, so I immediately removed the affected fish and quarantined it.This morning, I called Petco and spoke with Jose, their "aquatic specialist," explaining the situation. The fish is still alive and okay, but I requested an exchange since I don't want this disease to spread to my healthy fish. Jose informed me of their company policy, which does not allow returns or exchanges for saltwater fish. I argued that they sold me a fish with defects and potentially a disease, which could have contaminated my entire tank if I hadn't noticed it in time. I further explained that it had been less than 24 hours since I bought the fish, and it was already nighttime when I discovered the fish's condition. He told me I could bring the fish to the store and donate if I didn't have space for it, but they could not offer an exchange.Lesson learned: I will not trust this particular store with live fish again. They should not be selling fish with diseases. So beware!
Sep 12, 2024 · Nair AlleAwesome service. This place is a bit farthest to my house but it’s definitely worth it. Everything is the best you could ask for. The grooming salon is amazing. They have so much patience with my pup and always do it right. Prices are affordable and they have a great variety of products. All employees are always really nice. Even when you go without an appointment. The walks in are prefect. The mini makerover is awesome. This is definetely the place you should go.
Nov 27, 2021 · J VaqI’m giving this rating to bring attention to your third-party adoption service, Paws That Matter, because clearly, they don’t. My daughter and I applied to adopt a kitten almost three weeks ago and never received any response. No acknowledgment, no updates, nothing. This week, we tried again using the new scan code from their Facebook page, yet still no response.Meanwhile, these poor kittens have been sitting in your stores for weeks on end. It’s heartbreaking to see them waiting for homes while applications go ignored. If finding homes for these animals truly mattered, the adoption process would be more responsive and organized.I will update my rating once real changes are made.
