Petco Reviews
Zero Stars. Unfortunately, that is not an option. I booked my puppy miniature schnauzer for his first haircut. Price was $59 for full groom. On the pre-check in form, it asks for instructions on how you want your dog groomed. I put in CAPS for them to not cut his hair off, do not touch his beard at all, not even to trim it, cut along the ridge of his back to ensure his skirt hangs properly. When I got there, the groomer, Arianna, insisted and started reading a Petco script of how they do not want to cut puppy's hair at 5 months due to the puppy hair still growing. She then advised she would just cut around the edges of the hair, trim the feet, ears, anal area. I said great, I agree, just a small trim to allow his hair to keep growing properly. Well, I get back to pick up my dog. I had to pay first. I noticed the bill was $88 instead of the $59. I did not want to make a scene and just assumed it was the price of this location. When they brought my dog out. IT WAS HORRIFIC! My beautiful full bodied hair schnauzer was completely BALD! My dog looked like a rat! I asked her why he was bald. She said she wanted it all the same length because she had to cut under his feet low as there was some hair matting. I told her, no, a few curls of hair on the bottom of his feet for a puppy at that, did not constitute her inability to not know how to do a schnauzer cut and decide to shave him completely bald without consulting me at all. Even when she herself did not want to do a full groom and insisted he just get a trim due to him being 5 months. The absolute worst experience! Now I have to wait 3-6 months for my puppy's hair to grow back. Ruined his entire look for the summer. I will never go back and do not recommend others to go to this location!Update - So, I called the store per the response to my review. Then the corporate called to follow up on my complaint. They advise they would have upper management contact me. Meantime I called the store to respond to my review. Young lady, cashier, I've been told, advised to come up to the store and get my refund and address the issues. I get there after work, the cashier recognizes my voice and name. She called a manager, a female. The it began. She did the, who are you, who did you talk to, I have no idea etc. etc., so she went to another manager, Robert. He was extremely unprofessional, condescending, he kept challenging me and my comments, indicated the response to my Google Review was from a random stranger, he didn't know anything about a complaint and that I might want to check with the District manager. I even called corporate on speaker in front of him, he acted as if he had no idea who corporate was, he was interested etc. Then became the victim and indicated I needed to get out of the store. Just a total nightmare of a place and experience. This entire store staff needs training and relocated to a different store. This is absolutely the worst Petco I've ever encountered.
May 27, 2025 · Be RAbsolutely never again. Took in my Yorkie and they returned a chihuahua. This is not at all what I asked for, on top of the rudeness of the staff!!! Poor puppy looks traumatized.
Apr 25, 2025 · Liliana AmpueroThis grooming is terrible they are very unprofessional dirty and they don’t know how to complete a job. My dog is a toy poodle and he is only 5 months they gave him a half of haircut and I am pissed they didn’t care at all or cared about my dog. I will go above and beyond about my dog he looks terrible and they said oh well to my dog. This very unacceptable for this company to treat my baby this way, I want answers now.
May 05, 2025 · Juanita ThomasTo say the staff in grooming were careless would be an understatement. I took both of my dogs to get a wash and hair cut. When we walked into the grooming center, it was extremely loud and dirty with multiple layers of dog hair on the floor and floating around in the air. As we were being checked in, I witnessed a staff member yelling at a dog for moving while she was trimming his paw. That should’ve been my first warning. The staff member helping me use the slip lead to get my dog into the grooming area. My dog was fighting it because she was pulling on his neck and yanking him around. When it was my next dogs turn the same thing happened and she was pulling on him by his neck, pulling his hair, trying to get the leash over his head. I asked her if I could do it and she said “no you can’t come back here” which I understand for safety reasons. Halfway through the estimated grooming time they called and said they weren’t gonna be able to do the grooming because the dogs were not cooperative. I’ve been to several Petcos where they always have kind staff for willing to help calm nervous dogs, but all that my dogs were met with was impatience and cruelty. They called and said I could collect the dogs and they would only charge for the bath. When I looked at the paperwork as I was checking out, they had charged me for the things that they said they couldn’t do including giving them bandannas and brushing and trimming them. I knew they hadn’t been provided that service because they told me they didn’t but my dogs were already stressed enough so just paid the full price and got out. On the way home I noticed my dogs were very scared and not acting like themselves. When I got them out of the car, I noticed my dog was on edge and as I reached for his harness he tried to bite me. This is something he has never done before so I figured he must be injured or scared I was going to hurt him. Once I got both dogs inside I examined each of them and one had a scratch on his skin. It doesn’t look like a trimming nick; it’s in the shape of a nail. That being said I will no longer be going to Petco for grooming. Please be wary of taking your dogs here. No one’s pet should be treated this way.
May 14, 2025 · maya riosI took my Toy Poodle "Bear" to get groomed and April did a great job. She was very professional and greeted him as soon as she seen us. I will definitely bring Bear back 😊
