Aardvark Animal Hospital Reviews
I brought Winston in on an emergency basis. They took him right away, and tried to help him. Unfortunately it was a heart attack and couldn’t be saved. They did everything they could. They were very comforting to me. Thank you Aardvark!
Jun 26, 2025 · Lea LilieThe compassion that the staff has for the humans and the animals is what keeps us going to Aardvark. They explain everything and try to give alternatives that don’t break the bank. I feel so comfortable bringing my babies to Aardvark.
Mar 08, 2025 · Cheryl BauerI had the worst experience at an animal hospital, probably ever. I adopted an eight-week-old kitten about three weeks ago and was referred by a family member to Aardvark when my kitten started experiencing gastrointestinal issues. Since I have a fractured foot, my mother helped me take him to Aardvark for an examination. They discovered that he had Giardia and sent us home $160 later with three different medications. One of the medications was to be given by syringe for ten days, and the syringe was labeled to indicate the correct dosage. After five days of medication, we ran out of one of the prescriptions. We were confused as to why the doctor would instruct us to administer the medication for ten days but only provide enough for five days. We contacted the clinic to clarify, and they told us to come by for more. My mother went to pick it up and was charged another $20. We were perplexed as to why we had to pay an additional fee when they hadn’t given us enough medication in the first place. We figured we would discuss this further when we brought in his stool specimen for testing at the two-week mark.Fast forward to today, when we dropped off the stool specimen. During our initial visit two weeks ago, they provided us with a specimen cup and a scoop, instructing us to bring in the sample on the same day we collected it. I even asked if it was acceptable to scoop it out of the litter box and whether having any litter mixed in would be a problem. The girl behind the counter looked at the vet tech, who confirmed that it wouldn't be an issue. However, when we tried to drop off the specimen today, we were informed that the doctor typically prefers a fresh specimen taken directly from the cat and that it should have been brought in at the three-week mark. Adding to our frustration, when my mother mentioned the medication issue—specifically that they had originally given us enough for only five days and then charged us for more—they accused us of overdoing the medication! I was appalled. I personally administered the medication twice a day, following the dosage indicated on the syringe. For a place that charges so much money, the staff seemed completely unaware of what was going on. All this mixed communication should have been documented in his notes, but it was not. The staff looked at my mother as if she didn’t know what she was talking about, even though I was present during the doctor's visit and heard everything she did.I will be searching for a new animal hospital for my pet—one that knows what they are talking about, is truthful with their clients, and doesn't accuse pet owners of giving their pets excess medication when they were simply following the doctor’s instructions.
