★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Goodbye Sweet Sassy... loyal cat companion to Mom until the end... sweet sissy until her end this last Sunday, July 20. She let us know she was ready to go, so I held her the whole night before, and then we said our goodbyes sending her over the rainbow bridge to Mom.Thanks to Animal Emergency & Specialty Center of Knoxville for their loving attendance to Sassy's end of life care. We are incredibly grateful!
July 23 · Angela Beth LynchI will forever be grateful for this place and the amazing people in it. We have been bringing Oscar, our Great Dane mix, here since mid-March, when we came in on a Sunday morning through the emergency service. He had been undergoing treatment for another issue at another practice, and over the weekend became critically ill. We arrived with him and he was immediately brought back for evaluation and triage. The staff is comforting and keeps you updated with progress and news, and though it felt like forever (because we were so anxious about what was wrong) they had a diagnosis and a plan forward very efficiently and quickly given they were incredibly busy with many emergencies. Oscar was diagnosed with Addison’s Disease and we were told he was in Addisonian Crisis. His lab work was critically abnormal. This group literally saved his life, and he walked out of the hospital 3 days later 🩷 We have had the opportunity to do follow-ups quite regularly here with the internal medicine service so that Oscar’s labs can be followed and his medications adjusted accordingly. They run like a well-oiled machine every single time. Oscar is comfortable here, he walks in and lays down next to me while we wait for them to come take him for his labs, and everyone is just incredibly warm and friendly to both him and to us. We wouldn’t have our sweet boy today if it hadn’t been for this place. My soul dog is still with me because of them. And thank you is just not enough.
May 20 · Emily RobertsIf I could give this place a -100!!! Do not take any living breathing thing to this place they will bleed you dry!!! my poor daddy that’s on a fixed income took his dog here Saturday that was hit by a DoorDash driver. This dog is like my dad‘s baby. He was bleeding out. My dad can barely walk and is legally blind his health isn’t the best And he rushes him into this hospital. Mind you we live an hour away the whole time he’s bleeding out and my dad‘s trying to keep pressure on it. I cannot explain to you the amount of blood this baby has already lost. He gets there and Tells him he only has $300 that he’s working with if they could please help him. They said no it’s going to be more than 300 so they let him sit out in the lobby with his baby bleeding out because they weren’t gonna take him back without knowing they had the $800 so I took my rent money and helped my dad pay for it So they could at least take him back and stop the bleeding. They charged him $800 to wrap it up, Sent him home with with an anabiotic that he didn’t need. they told him it was gonna have to be amputated that can cost anywhere from $3000-$5000. They wasn’t for sure yet to try and get a loan for as high as you can!!! My dad didn’t even have $800 so I had to help him pay for it. So today we take my dad’s dog to the vet and the dog should’ve never had his leg wrapped in the first place. They unwrapped his leg and the smell and infection has already started to set in because they wrapped it. The antibiotics that they put him on is not doing anything. The dog’s leg absolutely does NOT need amputated this place should be ashamed of themselves taking advantage of someone in such a vulnerable state is disgusting. There is a special place in the afterlife for these people and I firmly believe that. Disgusting!
July 28 · Brenda MorganThey took amazing care of our fosters biscuit and bourbon; who are now foster failures: Mylah and Teddy, when they had parvo, through the humane society. Both doggies are thriving and they are currently caring for my sweet mother and sister in laws kitty who banged his head into a car. Staff is compassionate and obviously cares.
July 29 · allisoncole08Dr. Whittemore and Spencer as well as the entire staff treated my dogs as if they were their own. I can’t express enough how grateful I am for this amazing team who saved my beloved Goose from certain death and diagnosed our precious Boomer with Addison’s disease. If you want top notch care for your furbabies, this IS the place. ❤️
