Associated Veterinary Specialists Introduce
For pet owners across the Greater St. Louis area and the surrounding regions of Missouri, ensuring the best possible health outcomes for a beloved animal often means seeking specialized care beyond a primary veterinarian's general practice. **Associated Veterinary Specialists (AVS)**, located in Bridgeton, MO, serves as a vital **Specialized Hospital** and **Animal hospital** providing advanced expertise in complex pet health issues. This is not simply a walk-in veterinary clinic; it is a dedicated referral center where veterinary professionals, known as **Internist** and specialists, manage cases that require sophisticated diagnostics, focused long-term treatment, and state-of-the-art procedures.
At AVS, the team's commitment to excellence is rooted in specialized knowledge, with board-certified professionals focusing on areas like internal medicine and dentistry. This specialization ensures that pets with conditions like chronic diseases, complicated internal organ issues, or severe dental pain—such as feline stomatitis, as highlighted in a customer review—receive the highest level of focused attention. When your dog or cat requires a diagnosis that has proven elusive, or a treatment plan that demands advanced techniques, your primary **Veterinarian** in Missouri will often recommend AVS as the trusted partner for a path toward better health.
The hospital operates on a professional, referral-based model where appointments are highly recommended to ensure proper management of each complex case. This approach allows the specialists to thoroughly review a pet’s medical history and consult with the referring doctor, ensuring a seamless and informed transition of care. As numerous clients attest, the team is known for its **professional, committed, and knowledgeable** approach, taking the time for **lengthy conversations** to answer all questions and provide clear expectations for treatment and recovery, thereby easing the anxiety of concerned pet owners.
While the cost of specialized care is naturally higher than routine veterinary visits, AVS ensures clients have options to manage unexpected expenses. Critically, they **do accept CareCredit**, providing a financing solution that can make essential advanced treatments, such as a full mouth extraction for a cat suffering from stomatitis, accessible. The sentiment from clients is clear: the high level of care, the successful treatment outcomes, and the compassionate support are **well worth the cost** for the quality of life restored to their furry family members.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- This review is for their dental practice. Dr. Ulbricht was recommended to me by my cat's primary vet after a stomatitis diagnosis. Everyone I interacted with there was kind and informative. Dr. Ulbricht was very thorough in doing pre-surgery testing, which gave me a lot of confidence about Cicero's procedure. I was quite anxious on drop-off day, but they were very clear about what was happening and what to expect, which helped ease my anxiety. His full mouth extraction went well, and they held my kitty overnight for monitoring. I definitely felt like he was getting the best care he could get! Cicero has a couple more post-procedure check-ins with them, but has been doing very well just a few days later. Overall, I would absolutely reccomended their dental practice to anyone. I felt like they really cared about pet and owner alike! They do accept CareCredit too, though be sure you understand how that type of debt works before you take it on! The price will be higher here than your "average" vet, but my kitty got the best of care and it was well worth it. February 08 · Dominique Alvarado-Holden
- I was referred to AVS by my dog's primary vet and I am so happy he did. They have been nothing but professional, committed, and knowledgeable. They have answered all my questions through lengthy conversations and I wished I had gone to them sooner. The treatment and recommendations have been spot on and my dog's condition has improved so much that she continues to not have problems. June 04 · Julie Mcentire
- My cat came in the house with a wound on her neck. I was worried about my Kitty so I took her to AVS. It took a while to be seen. This is an Emergency Veterinarian Service so they take the sickest animals first, I saw a lot of them while I waited, it made me so grateful that they're not far from where I live. They take excellent care of the animals. October 19 · Mary Roberts-Watts
- This place is amazing and I won't take my pet anywhere else! They are helpful and kind and knowledgeable. August 28 · Rachel Burrus
- I can't express how happy we are with how they treated our dog, Copper. Our general Vet recommended them to us when he came down with a serious case of pneumonia. After the first round of antibiotics from our vet didn't work, he was very weak, wouldn't eat, and we were terrified he wouldn't make it through the next day. Copper had to be placed on oxygen and was at AVS without us for 7 days, and had to be transferred to an animal hospital during the weekend then returned here Monday. Now Copper is back home with us, still on oxygen, but getting better every day. AVS took every phone call, let us go back and visit him in the ICU every day he was there and answered every 100 questions and concerns we had. I would just like to thank Dr Lloyd, the other vets, nurses and techs that worked with us and helped get Copper home. October 28 · Kevin Mahoney
