★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- Alton Animal Clinic is the best vet I’ve had. They are comprehensive and thorough. They are polite, upfront and honest, which I appreciate. Some people may take their honesty as being rude, but when it comes down to it, I don’t want to be mislead or uninformed in any situation. My trust in them and their honesty with me is imperative. Anyone who has seen Dr Formea knows he was just as honest and upfront. It is no different now than it was with him. Dr K (Kraushaar) has been amazing. I am going through end of life with one of my dogs, and she has been there every step of the way. I appreciate you very much, Dr K. The employees of AAC pride themselves in care and compassion for your pets as well as their parents. I can’t rave about them enough. Please know your hard work and dedication to our animals veterinary needs are looked upon with admiration and you all are very much appreciated! July 13 · Ann Basola
- My first visit at Alton Animal Clinic was a great experience. The front office staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The reception area and treatment rooms were clean and orderly. The Vet Tech was professional and very kind to my elderly dog. August 25 · Cindy Orton
- 4/22/25 Since I can’t add a new post I’m updating on this one today. I phoned the office late afternoon today to get Bailey in for her yearly shots after I got the reminder card today in the mail saying they are due 5/11 and was told they were booked out till July. I was shocked. I told the lady I’ve never had to wait this long and need her shots to board her. I asked if I should take her somewhere else and she told me “that wouldn’t be a bad idea if you need them before July”. I was shocked so I asked for her medical records and she emailed them to me while I was on the phone. I hate to see Dr Formea’s practice he built up with such a good reputation now becoming something I won’t take my animals to in the future. At least I have her records and will be finding her a new provider. May God bless Dr.Formea and Lorie for all their dedication to their patients. I know we miss them! This was my post 5 months ago today: A few weeks ago I called to get Ameretto, our 14.5 yr old min pin in to see Dr. Formea and was told he’s on an unexpected leave of absence and to say prayers for him. We did see Dr. Maag and he was good with her and helped me make the decision to do pain management. I asked Dr. Maag to please let Dr. Formea know about her and he said he would. I had to make a tough decision to let her go and when I made the call to the office and asked if Dr. Formea could do this for me, he was still out so we had Dr. Maag assist us with her passing. The experience this time was different as we didn’t see Dr. Maag until he gave her the last shot where when I had this tough decision a few years back, Dr. Formea was there with me making sure both myself and Jack (my chihuahua)were ok. I want to thank Will and Linesse (I’m sure I spelled this wrong) for their compassion and hugs during this difficult time and I only hope that Dr. Formea and Lorie see my post and that you both know that Ameretto was given the best care by both of you and your staff over the years. The pictures are of her and Bailey having their last breakfast together and the one by herself was the last time she laid in my office while I worked. May God answer my prayers and watch over Dr. Formea and his staff in this difficult time and I do hope to see him back in the clinic soon. April 22 · Brenda Subick
- This was our first time here since they changed from Formea… just not the same experience as before. We felt rushed and felt like the staff was rather cold and acted like they didn’t want to be there. When Dr Maag and the old staff were there, we felt very cared for and that our fur babies were in the best hands and everyone was so warm and caring. We are now in search for a new vet clinic that will show our fur babies the care they deserve! August 09 · Kim Gibby
- This used to be a nice place to bring your pets but the new staff is extremely cold and rude. I’ve never been treated so horribly at a business in my life. My family and I will be taking our business elsewhere. This dump will never get another cent from us. August 18 · Jaide Smith
