Ayer Animal Medical Center Reviews
A very caring and knowledgeable staff. I had changed the vet for my cat last year, choosing someone closer to home - my cat hates the car. After that one visit, I went back to Ayer Animal MC. My cat was much calmer and more chill.
Apr 21, 2025 · Kathleen WnukThe Ayer Animal Medical Center provides exceptional service and have a remarkable staff! My fur-babies loved the professional love and care provided during their exam. I appreciate the advice the Vet provided and guidance to ensure a healthy happy future!
May 29, 2025 · Linda JonesMy elderly mother went into long term care with alzheimers. We drove down here to get her dog that was left to me to deal with. The dog was a patient of Ayer Animal Medical Center and needed help and they wouldn’t help us. My own vet was booked out solid for over 2 weeks so they told us to try calling the dog’s current vet and asked them for help with a sedation shave because the dog was so matted and fearful/anxious that for his own safety and wellbeing he needed to be sedated to be properly attended to. I was told that Dr. Clifford recommended Trazodone and maybe some gabapentin for the dog and that we would have to find a groomer or someone that would take him because they “don’t do dogs just cats” that require sedation shaving. Floored, I hung up and ended up calling back asking if they put the dog under sedation for a neuter, they would also have to shave him to perform that surgery. I was told that is correct so I said “fine let’s book that then” as the dog needed to be neutered anyway. So basically, out of sheer desperation trying to help his poor animal, I was willing to pay for a neuter and a shave to get him help from his vet for a dog that essentially just landed in my lap and needed help. They told me they would send over some estimates via email, and sent me an email to confirm my email address but never sent me any estimates and blew us off completely 2 days before the holiday weekend. Thank god for Pawsitive Care urgent care in Maynard MA (which I was able to find out about through my own vet as I called them in tears desperately begging for help for this poor dog). Pawsitive Care they took this poor dog in the next day and gave him the help he needed and deserved. Ayer Animal Medical Center should be ashamed, and I will tell anyone that cares to listen about their lack of caring, lack of communication, lack of consideration and awful treatment of an animal that was an actual patient of their practice. I would NEVER bring one of my animals here, they deserve better than this kind of blatant dismissal, especially when in dire need of care. I would leave them ZERO stars if google allowed for it.
Jul 05, 2025 · Sarah WilcoxVery friendly and knowledgeable. Is one of the best experiences for my dog she felt very comfortable with the nurse and doctor at the facility..
Feb 28, 2025 · Crystal MurphyThis is a very caring group. They are gentle with animals, smart about figuring out problems (because animals don't talk!), and all of the staff is cheerful and helpful. And after an appointment, they always follow up with a call to see how things are going. The Thrive insurance option has been very helpful. It saves us a lot, including nail trims. I have a big dog, and I'm not trimming his nails! Highly recommend them. Obi-Woof Kenobi (Obi for short) wags his tail, instead of tucks it between his legs. Happy dog, happy Dog-Mom.
