★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1To Dr. Raney and the Banfield Pet Hospital Team,I want to sincerely thank you for the exceptional care you’ve given our dog, Baby.Dr. Raney, your expert guidance and compassion during Baby’s treatment for heartworm disease made all the difference. You were thorough, reassuring, and deeply caring throughout the entire process. Thanks to you, Baby is now happy, healthy, and thriving. When the time came for Baby to travel internationally, your USDA-accredited expertise ensured that all the required CDC and USDA documentation was completed properly and efficiently. It gave us great peace of mind knowing everything was handled with such professionalism.I also want to recognize Steven Hunter, the office manager, whose smooth and efficient handling of the process made a complex situation feel seamless. His calm demeanor and clear communication gave us total confidence that Baby was in the best possible hands. We are so grateful for your dedication, care, and the way your team works together to support pets and their families. Thank you again for everything you’ve done for Baby—and for us.Warmly,Anna Moskowitz
June 08 · Anna MoskowitzThe entire team at Banfield is amazing. Special shout out to Dr. Raney, Jackie and Stephen. They are so awesome and always take good care of my babies.
July 02 · Hillary DeliraI recently signed up for their wellness program for my dog. My experience has been mixed thus far hence the two stars. I am willing to update this review, if/when I start to see improvement on everything from care and pricing.a) Depending on the day, some of the staff are extremely compassionate and kind and you can tell they love animals, while others have an attitude. Unfortunately, inconsistent customer service.b) I came prepared with past vaccination records and had to request the records be uploaded a second time for accuracy.c) The "comprehensive" exam is far from that. The exams in general seem to be less exam and more talking. To be fair, I'm only going off a sample size of two. I will continue to try all the doctors at this location to see if I can find one that works for me and my dog.d) My main motivation for switching vets was to find a lower cost alternative to where I live in Newport Beach where prices are sky high. However, even with the wellness program membership where you supposedly get a discount on meds and services, their prices after the discount are same (or even slightly higher). So basically this notion of a "discount" is false advertising. I realize this is set by corporate and not an issue unique to this specific location.e) My dog started limping and he was prescribed an anti-inflammatory, this is 7-days before dental cleaning under anesthesia. No one mentioned that you can't have surgery while taking this medication. This is perhaps the biggest disappointment and what prompted me to write this review. This points to a lack of care or competency of the staff.I'm stuck with this membership for a year, since exiting out of it would entail even more costs. As of now, I will not be renewing, unless the experience starts to improve.
April 15 · Monika GuptaI give Dr Rainey 5 stars but unfortunately she was not In the office the day we had to bring our beloved 18 year old cat in to be euthanized. Working myself in the medical field for 20 years I understand a doctor needs to keep a level of detachment when it comes to difficult decisions or when having to perform euthanasia but the doctor we had that day was so robotic and unsympathetic. I don't think I was looking for anything more than just be human , understand we are grieving and see if we need anything. I asked if we could hold our cat during the procedure and doctor said ok but seems uncomfortable so we didn’t. I understand it’s hard situation for all involved but maybe next time just show alittle more compassion so that our last memories with him on earth aren’t tainted.
June 19 · LEYLA MADDOXI’ve been taking my little dog, Fify, to Banfield since last year—first in Culver City, and now at the Costa Mesa location. Despite numerous visits, no one could figure out why Fify’s liver levels were elevated… until we were lucky enough to meet Dr. Rainey. From that day forward, everything changed.Dr. Rainey is absolutely amazing—compassionate, knowledgeable, and incredibly thorough. She treats Fify with so much love and care, and she always takes the time to explain things clearly and recommend the best next steps. I truly feel like Fify is in the best hands. Her team, Vincent and Steven, are just as wonderful—kind, patient, and always welcoming. Everyone at this location makes you feel cared for. Thank you, Dr. Rainey, for being the kind of vet every pet parent hopes to find. You’re a true gem!
