The hospital’s presence in a bustling area of Norfolk means that it is a familiar and readily available option for many residents. While the convenience of location is a definite plus, it is important for local users to also consider the day-to-day operational aspects of the clinic, such as scheduling and communication. Banfield Pet Hospital Reviews
Terrible service. Been going here since 2018 and I'm finally looking around at other vets. They've been getting worse and worse over the years and I'm finally at my breaking point. Long lines, not answering the phone or returning messages. Delays even with an appointment! Also, the scheduling is so bad that they have to book you so far out that your pet needs to be seen somewhere else for fear of their ailment getting worse. I'm over it. My pet deserves better. ✌🏾 banfield!
Jun 12, 2025 · Tabitha PopeJust rude service -I booked an appointment online for wellness for my dog. Only after we get there to be told they were only doing vaccinations on the holiday. I was so pissed! We drove 39 mins for nothing & why did it allow us to book the appointment. I called the Newport News location and got seen 2hrs later! I feel like the staff at the Norfolk location just didn't want to see my pet even with their wellness insurance that I pay a fortune for! Do not go to this location unless you want to be disappointed....how rude!! My pet is sick and I'm worried about him. The Norfolk location refused to even look at him!!
May 26, 2025 · Tina HinesNurses and everyone at the front desk was great, but vet called me about my dog a few hours after drop off saying he’d need additional testing. I asked if this would take long since I was parked outside and would rather go home if it would take a while. The call came it at 2:17pm. By 4pm I was still sitting outside and heard nothing from the vet so I finally went in. They said that the vet thought I’d be coming back inside in 15 mins (despite the fact she said “I’ll give you a call when he’s done”) Front desk was very apologetic about everything (and are at no fault here), but they tried to have me leave and come back after going in the back and checking on my dog. I told them to check how long it was going to take, because I wasn’t driving all the way home just to be told he’s done, and then have to come all the way back. They told me my dog was ready to go home when they came back after checking again. Vet couldn’t even apologize herself after I waited 2 hours parked outside. Staff is overall great, helpful, and friendly, but the vets need to work on their communication if these are their standards.
May 29, 2025 · Britney KiefI've been taking my little yokie here for 10 years and nothing but greatness has come from there. The staff and vets are wonderful. They takes great care of my fur baby.....
Jul 17, 2025 · Wanda LongDo not go here if you are pcsing with pets. They did not know what they were doing with the USDA paperwork, and tried to upsell me for extra vaccines not needed for the country I was moving too. The pricing (not the vets fault) was outrageous for a USDA paperwork signing verifying they have rabies’s I paid 1200 together for two cats. I was told by other friends in the area that was wrongfully priced and I should’ve fought it, but it was a time crunch to get out od the country with the two on the plane. I should’ve contacted corporate to verify the price. 600$ EACH cat just to verify their chip and their rabies certificate. They also caused me undo stress, because the vet did the paperwork wrong, two times before she got it right. I know the price isn’t right because I’ve paid less for a tooth extraction and cleaning under anesthesia since then. Don’t go here unless you want to cry, over pay, and be stressed when moving to a different country with pets. You’d think a vet near the ORF airport with the largest Naval Base would be more well versed in the process to PCS pets to different countries. They also had my cat all day from 8 or 9 am to 1700 JUST to verify the rabies shot and chip. I had to pay boarding for the whole day. Which is a joke because no surgery was done. I left them there all day just to get charged boarding for the whole day, when my appointment was at 8. Sketchy. I will update this with the vets name once I find my receipt. I will post that too. Misshap from January 2024
