Banfield Pet Hospital

1021 Independence Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23455, USA

3.0
This is the first Banfield location where I’ve had an issue. I’ve visited multiple Banfield locations across Florida and Georgia and have never been told my dog had a problem with leaving the kennel. At this particular Banfield, I was informed that my dog refused to leave the kennel, and the vets “didn’t feel comfortable” handling him. They prescribed medication, which was supposed to help him (it worked the first two times). However, the third time—despite my dog being calm when dropped off after taking the medicine—they called and said they couldn’t see him and that I needed to pick him up. They then told me that moving forward, he would need to be sedated to be seen, at a cost of $150.Later, when I called to schedule his rabies and distemper vaccinations, I asked if I could be in the room with him to see if he would act differently. They refused again, saying the “team was uncomfortable” and that for their safety, sedation would be necessary.I called another Banfield location, and my dog got his shots without issue. It really felt like they were more interested in taking my money than providing proper care. I do not recommend this Banfield. - Sofía Serrano-Kirk
