Banfield Pet Hospital Reviews
The sole concern of the staff appeared to be convincing you that your pet needs a wellness plan that you're contractually obligated to pay for the entire year before you can cancel. My wife was duped into thinking that this was a good idea, $1,100 per year for our 1 year old cat. The spay she went in for webbed up costing $1,100 ! They would not let me just pay for the operation and whatever else the cat got, a couple of vaccinations, and a basic exam (yes, she has two eyes. Oh, but horrible teeth! She'll need x-rays and oral surgery). We wanted to just cash out and be done, but they wanted their contact money. No matter who I spoke with, they all had the same response... exactly! So we paid their fees and canceled which goes into effect in 11 months. So until then, we're going to get every service available at no cost. (I think that's one vaccination and a weigh-in). Don't waste your money on these people taking advantage of pet lovers' hearts. Be aware of their sales tactics.
Jun 07, 2025 · Jim GreyThis Banfield is a shining beacon of excellence. Each and every employee, from Dr. Singh, to all the vet techs, to the front desk staff, are extremely professional. Appointment availability is extremely reasonable. I appreciate their proactive calls to get my Chihuahua in for her bi-annual wellness exam. Total time that I’ve had to leave my dog at this location is extremely reasonable, usually no more than 3 to 4 hours. Truly remarkable staff at this location. Thank you for taking such good care of my dogs. Also, thank you to the staff that take the time during Christmas to offer photos with Santa.
Jun 29, 2024 · Leonidas GarciaThis would ** No Stars ** if possible. My mom called this Lakewood Banfield which she takes her dog to regularly for normal veterinary services and has an active wellness plan for her dog. She asked for travel document to fly with her dog. The person who answered said it would be $500. We called to confirm and the person that answered confirmed it was $500. We asked specifically for detail of what is provided and covered with the $500 fee and they stated they cannot do that. They even said they cannot provide firm pricing until the day they would provide the documents. We called another Banfield and asked the question about the cost for travel documents. They explained that if the pet is covered under an active wellness plan then the cost of the documents were already covered and that even without an active wellness plan the cost was not $500.Needless to say my mom will not be using the Lakewood Banfield for any future services and will recommend people not use this location because the response they provided does not sound legitimate and raises concerns about their business practices.
Apr 08, 2025 · Alan VidalLakewood Banfield provided great care and customer service. They were even able to assist in getting all my pets scheduled in one day, which was very convenient (5). This is important as a different location was not as helpful. All pups were treated and happy little energy cuties.Pretty sure 1 of my doggies got nervous when another girl dog came in for her appointment. Too cute
Jan 15, 2022 · MookiePLEASE READ THE OTHER ONE STAR REVIEWS TOO!DO NOT TRUSTAfter a few years of taking my sweet girl here to this location in Lakewood I built trust that they would take care of my baby. I begin to to feel like something was wrong so we brought her in and spoke with them about our concerns the only thing that was given to us were test that cost more money in which we paid for but these tests had no answers to how she was feeling or her test would come back normal or occasionally, they would prescribe her a medication that would only help so little and we voiced we wanted to pay for everything that she needed in urgency and they gave us more open ended test that truly solved nothing. I begin to feel very worried because I knew something was wrong, so we took her and one of her vets recommend us to VCA which we thought was strange. (they have a better pet plan by the way) It turned out she has three tumors in her lungs and a short time to live but we've been bringing her to this vet for months about her breathing and they couldn't figure that out and it took VCA only a couple hours . We also looked over her History and found a few things that they've never communicated with us until I called them to tell them my dog is passing soon then they confirmed about the other issues. The manager I spoke with was very unapologetic about the situation and also began to blame my partner Not communicating with me which is extremely unprofessional but I was also there for all the communication between pet visits and also If I had more of a understanding, information, and communication of my dogs condition or urgency I could've helped her a little bit more now she doesn't have much more time to live. Please look into other programs that truly care for your dog so they're not just another number.
