Blue Paw Primary Pet Care Reviews
I have been going to this vet for a while now, but during my cats recent vet visit, they charged me for shots that I was not aware my animal would be getting nor did I consent to before they administered them. That is veterinary misconduct and this business could have been sued. I am much more civil than that however, if you take your animal here, be aware that if they take them to the back room, they may do things you’re unaware of with your animal, including administering medicine that you did not consent to. The total amount of charges is pictured below, which is $135 when I was walking into an exam that should’ve only been $25. This vet used to operate under the name Afford-a-vet, however, now, since the name changed, it is far from that and service has declined severely.Ps. all follow up appointments were canceled and I only ever consented to the $25 examination. This consent was misunderstood by the vet for consent for everything. Once a veterinarian came back into the room to inform me that I would now have to pay an extra $64 for the shots administered to my cat without consent I chose to continue with the vaccinations ($39) so that I could avoid the extra charge in the future. I honestly should have walked out once the vet made that mistake.
Jul 23, 2025 · Ella RaeI showed up for my appointment that I made 3 days prior with my dog AND my very sick 13-year-old cat who desperately needed to be seen. I come in and the lady at the desk informs me that she can’t find my appointment. Eventually after looking some more, she informs me that my appointment had been cancelled. I did not cancel my appointment. She asked if I ever got a text message about the appointment. I did not, and I even showed her on my phone that I did not receive one. She said no problem, we can still see you today but you will have to pay a $100 walk-in fee. What? How is that fair? This was not a walk-in! I made my appointment! I understand businesses have policies that they have to follow, but this is ridiculous. You want me to pay $100 for an error on your part? Why would I have shown up for my appointment with my dog and my sick elderly cat if I had canceled it myself? That just sounds silly. Someone who worked there took it upon themselves to cancel my appointment, for whatever reason, and that’s not my fault! I understand that the computer was showing that the appointment had been canceled, but again, I’m there telling you I didn’t cancel it. Why would I be there?! She didn’t care. I don’t have the extra money right now to pay an extra $100 (on top of whatever I would’ve had to pay for my pets) just because of an error on YOUR STAFF’S PART. So I left with my babies, took them back home, and called another vet and made an appointment for later that same day. So I once again had to put my sick cat, who is very hard to put into a carrier as it’s very stressful on him, into said carrier and drive him to a different vet with him screaming and meowing again the whole way. Again, I do understand business policies, but I felt this was unfair and ridiculous because it was nothing I did and was out of my control. This was something you guys did and you didn’t even try to make it right. My cat was diagnosed with cancer later that day. And I don’t care about the frustration and anger that this caused me… I’m very upset about the unnecessary extra stress that was put on my cat that day when the whole time he had cancer! What a shame. I’m sure you all make enough money already that you don’t need to scam me and my sick cat for $100 extra. No compassion whatsoever.
Mar 08, 2025 · Jasmine SyllaUsed to love this place. Today I had a really bad experience - Had an appointment to get shots to my dogs - I was running late (this is totally my fault!) - but I did call and let them know, a very nice person was on the phone and reassured me that it was fine. Got there 14 minutes late, the person at the front desk (different person) - very quicky let me know that their policy is '15 minutes late and you either pay a walk-in fee ($15) or you reschedule". I tried to explain to her that I had called, and I was running late because we are leaving on vacation - and she just chose to argue with me and stand her ground with the company policy. - this is a tricky one - because while I do appreciate and respect the fact that she was enforcing company policy - If the place would have been packed (the waiting room was empty) - and she would have said it in a nicer way, I'd have had no problem at all rescheduling or paying their extra fee. That being said, the person that I had spoken to on the phone called me back, she was awfully nice and gave me a very well needed apology, and I appreciate that very much. Thank you! You are awesome!.Unfortunately by then I had already driven away and was looking for an alternative to take my dogs to.
Aug 09, 2024 · Max KIt was convenient location for me, but they never got to the bottom of my dogs skin issues. Never felt heard as my dog has been dealing with this for years all they would do is give medication that wouldn’t help or suggest a steroid shot. Don’t waste your time and money
Feb 04, 2025 · Arjeta AjetiFriendly staff, good with pets. Some things are still costly due to the nature of the visit but they will tell you the cost up front. So, you do not ha e to do it. Otherwise, a good place to take your pet. On a side note, do not be a jerk or jerket if you are unhappy. Politely express yourself, settle your bill, and leave. It is insane they have to put a sign up like in my picture because or jerkaholics. You do not have to come back if you are unhappy.
