Bluegrass Veterinary Specialists + Animal Emergency Reviews
we took our sweet girl, carrie, here when we found her suddenly paralyzed in her back two legs and miserable. the veterinarians and techs were so kind and helpful and it was so obvious that they love animals and what they do. they took such great care of our little angel. when her condition worsened, we had her euthanized here at home, and a few days later, we just got a card in the mail from everyone at bluegrass vet specialists. such a kind and sweet touch and a reminder that carrie was loved by everyone she met. thank you all for all that you do, and for doing your best to keep carrie comfortable in her last days.
Jun 09, 2025 · maddieMy cat was hurt on a Sunday evening. They got us in fairly quickly. They took such good care of our fur baby. They were very kind and understanding with us, too. They are upfront about all costs before they do anything, which I appreciate. They are reasonably priced for an emergency, after hours call.
May 19, 2025 · Julie WinsorHad a feeling my bub had more than just an upset tummy and decided to take him here since it was late… they were super friendly and didn’t bat an eye at my “aggressive breed” dog (he’s a sweetie). Not to mention they were super up front about pricing and didn’t do anything before clearing it with me. The morning after he is already feeling better. I was super impressed and will definitely go here again in a time of need. Thank you Dr. Jones and BVS staff!
Mar 11, 2025 · Ellie Eckerle10/10 AMAZING! I brought my (formally healthy) Schnauzer in for vomiting, diarrhea and lethargy. Turns out, he was in new onset DKA and very critical. He was hospitalized at BVS for four days. Every single person that I came in contact with was highly knowledgeable and so kind, honest, compassionate and patient (in person and on the phone). They did everything possible for my boy and they saved his life! Two other family dogs have also been treated there for emergencies in the past and they have proved their once excellence again. I am forever grateful and recommend them to anyone whose fur baby is in crisis! Thank you BVS! We are hoping Bruce has a long life because of you 🫶
Jun 15, 2025 · Brooke GrubbOslo and myself cannot thank Dr. Walker and the rest of the BVS staff enough! They helped us through an emergency situation while we were on a roadtrip 400 miles from home when one of our dogs lashed out on the other in the car. We called them from the road the road about 5 minutes away with uncontrollable bleeding, and they took my Oslo back the second I walked in the door! They took not only fantastic care of him, was knowledgeable about Greyhound perimeters, and even took our other dog in the back for some air conditioning while we waited for Oslo to be sedated and sutured up in his mouth. They sent us with puppy pads and a towel because they knew we were far from home and on the road, and then proceeded to reassure me on the phone while in the road. After a couple of days, you already wouldn't be able to tell this boy has stitches in his mouth! This Michigan family cannot be more grateful!P.S. They even trimmed his nails for me without me asking or charging me. He doesn't let me do his nails, and now I'm able to cancel his appointment at the groomer!
