★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I had to take my 17 year old dog in to be put to sleep. As soon as we walked into the exam room I felt rushed. I had looked into euthanasia before and was under the impression it is common to sedate the animal to ease the passing. The vet explained what they would do and what would happen. Within a few minutes they were looking for a vain. They didn't sedate him, and I felt him panic when they gave him the injection to put him to sleep. I was crying telling him I was sorry, and the vet told me at one point he was gone like I didn't need to waste my time talking to him. Then the vet tech and vet stood around trying to talk to us, talking to each other, joking, and laughing while I held my pet's body and sobbed. We wanted a private cremation ($185) and were told we would get him back in 3-5 business days. He came back in a cheap looking tin (which I found one online later for $11.95, on sale), which was in a cheap looking cotton bag with "Until We Meet Again" embroidered on it. I opened it to make sure what was in the tin; his ashes were in a big Ziploc bag. I was told I would get a paw print, and I had asked for a nose print. I got a Ziploc bag, with what looks like torn printer paper and inked paw and nose prints. I had expected clay; my mistake for not asking, but clay seems to be the common thing, and I didn't expect to have to ask for that.We paid over $300 for this experience. I do not advise going to this place for your pet's last moments.
