- Wellness and Preventative Care: This includes annual physical examinations, vaccinations tailored to your pet's lifestyle and risk factors, parasite prevention and control (fleas, ticks, heartworm, intestinal parasites), and nutritional counseling to maintain optimal weight and health. Regular wellness checks are crucial for early detection of potential health issues.
- Diagnostic Services: The hospital is equipped with modern diagnostic tools, including in-house laboratory testing for blood work (CBC, chemistry panels), urinalysis, fecal examinations, and cytology. They also offer digital radiography (X-rays) for detailed imaging of bones, organs, and soft tissues, aiding in accurate diagnoses.
- Dental Care: Comprehensive dental services are available, ranging from routine dental cleanings and polishing to extractions and treatment of periodontal disease. Good oral hygiene is vital for your pet's overall health and can prevent more serious systemic issues.
- Surgery: The veterinary team performs a variety of surgical procedures, including routine spays and neuters, soft tissue surgeries (e.g., tumor removals, foreign body removal), and some orthopedic procedures. Patient safety and comfort are prioritized through careful pre-surgical evaluations, anesthesia monitoring, and post-operative pain management.
- Emergency and Urgent Care: While not a 24-hour emergency facility, Companion Care Veterinary Hospital strives to accommodate urgent care needs during their regular business hours. For after-hours emergencies, they can provide guidance and referrals to local emergency veterinary hospitals.
- Microchipping: A vital service for pet identification, microchipping significantly increases the chances of reuniting with a lost pet.
- Pain Management: Tailored pain management plans are developed to ensure your pet’s comfort, especially after surgery, injury, or in the case of chronic conditions like arthritis.

Feb 26, 2025 · Susan JewettThis clinic doesn’t even deserve one star. I’ve never dealt with a more untrustworthy veterinary office. They constantly tack on unnecessary add-ons just to inflate the bill, without clear explanation or consent.I brought my dog in for a skin test — they literally used a piece of scotch tape and dabbed the area. No real exam, no proper scraping like the new vet I’m now seeing, who actually used a razor and did it thoroughly and professionally. To top it off, once I decided to switch clinics, they started withholding my pet’s medical records — completely unprofessional and unethical. That says everything about the kind of place this is. I would never recommend them to anyone who truly cares about their pet’s well-being or values honesty.
Jul 02, 2025 · Stacey KirschbaumI’ve been taking my animals here for over 5 years, driving 45 minutes one way each time. However, the past few times I’ve found that they’ve lacked compassion and always seem to want to go with the most expensive option first before giving any other options. I left almost in tears the other day when I almost payed $980 for a fecal exam and two blood tests. I had to have the poor receptionist haggle the price with me and discuss my options instead of having the vet come up and talk to me herself. They seem more concerned about money rather than being up front about your options. However, more bothersome than these things, Dr. Donis seemed cold and showed no compassion towards my dog whose been sick for weeks. She immediately came in and had my dog who’s extremely anxious cornered in the room to examine her which made me uncomfortable. Very blunt and straight forward with no emotion. After waiting a week for blood work, I get an email (no phone call) discussing the results. I call that day asking for a conversation, and she’d left for the day and would be on vacation for over a week and I was left with no options as to what to do for my dog in the meantime, whose clearly been very sick. I’ve also had a vet tech get upset with my cat because she wouldn’t stay still when trying to clean an infected wound which was upsetting to me. I’ve been very loyal to this vet and given them a lot of my time and money, but I don’t feel like they’re deserving of coming back anymore. I’m now feeling disappointed and like they honestly don’t care about my animals and their problems. (Some vet techs here have been amazing and sweet, this isn’t a review of ALL employees)
Feb 21, 2025 · Carleigh McGrathThis place used to be great. I have since had to downgrade my rating bc of (what I presume to be) newer veterinarians. I live on a farm, and sometimes tick season hits pretty hard. I've taken several preventative actions, but nothing works 1000%. I took my elderly dog to be treated for ehrlichia, and was chastised Dr. Donis for allowing him to be bitten by ticks. She took out the tick removal tool and proceeded to try and rip off several of his skin tags making my dog yelp in pain...Fast forward to 2025, and she saw my new puppy for a check up and was trying to express a small dense unopened cyst on his chest (forcing the slough inside to spread) making the cyst 3x bigger by the end of the visit. My puppy screamed in pain. Not to mention the She stated "we should sedate him and drain it before you go"Also, idk what's wrong with their record keeping bc we can't get any records of our dogs after 2017.
