To that end, they have implemented key accessibility features, including a wheelchair-accessible car park, a wheelchair-accessible entrance, and a wheelchair-accessible toilet. The location’s ease of access helps reduce the stress often associated with transporting pets for appointments, making the process smoother for everyone involved.

The services are designed to be thorough and effective, utilizing both standard and advanced techniques. Some of the key services include:
- Preventative Health Care: This includes yearly exams, vaccinations for cats and dogs, and permanent identification services. The focus is on early detection and prevention to keep pets healthy.
- Dental Care: A cornerstone of their practice, this includes dental exams, cleanings, and a variety of treatments to ensure excellent pet oral health.

While Companion Pet Clinic McMinnville offers a broad range of services, its distinguishing features lie in its approach to client and patient care. The clinic has been a long-standing fixture in the community, with some clients having been with them for nearly two decades. This longevity and trust are highlights in themselves. A review from a long-term client speaks volumes about the consistency and quality of care, noting that the staff is "like family" and has consistently done an "OUTSTANDING job" over 18 years. The ability of the veterinarians to put pet owners at ease is also a significant highlight. In one review, a client praised a doctor for alleviating her worry about an infection and her reluctance to medicate her pet unnecessarily. This shows a practice that values a conservative and thoughtful approach to treatment, avoiding medication unless it is "absolutely necessary."
However, it is important to acknowledge that like any business, Companion Pet Clinic McMinnville has had moments where communication and service have been questioned. A detailed negative review highlights an instance of poor communication regarding a scheduled surgery and a feeling of being misled about surgical options and billing. This indicates that while the clinic has a history of excellent service for many, there may be occasions where "miscommunication" can lead to frustration for clients. It is crucial for pet owners to be clear about their wishes and to confirm all details of a procedure to ensure a smooth experience. The feedback, both positive and negative, points to a clinic that is striving to provide a high level of medical care, but where clear communication between staff and clients is paramount for a successful visit.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I was really worried that I might have to have Dara fixed due to an infection. The doc that saw her put me at ease that this would not be the case and also it was not necessary to put my baby on medication at this time. This also made me very happy due to the fact that I don't want to be giving my animals medication unless it is absolutely necessary for them. Companion and all who work there over the last 18 years I have been with them have always done an OUTSTANDING job and are like family to my husband and I. Thank you for the work you do ☺️
August 04 · Melinda RichardsI am completely appalled at this place. My Dog got an ear hematoma, so we needed to get her seen ASAP. Our vet had just retired so we had to find a new one. I regret choosing this office.Dr Abby Van Hoef looked at my dog's ear and suggested waiting a couple weeks as she said it may re absorb and be fine. The Dr then explained to me the 2-options surgery wise and gave me a quote.I scheduled my dog for a follow up for 2 weeks from this appointment. After 10 days my dog's ear was worse, she was seeming to be getting an ear infection on top of it. I called the vet to see if we could just go ahead and schedule my dog for the full $741 ear hematoma surgery. They scheduled us for Saturday the 12th at 9 am.I called the vet on Friday the 11th to confirm my dog's appointment and to see if I needed to prep her in any way. I was told to withhold all food after 8pm but that she could have water.I brought my dog on Saturday the 12th at 9 am for her surgery, we were taken back into the exam room and Dr Abby Van Hoef came in to look at my dog's ear. She started to explain the surgery options again; I told her I had already called and scheduled my dog for the full surgery and that was why I was there today. She said they didn't have us on the schedule for surgery but for a checkup. She then scheduled for surgery for Tuesday the 15th, I was very clear that I wanted them to do the FULL ear hematoma surgery. My husband took my dog in on the 15th as I had to work. The front desk gave him a consent for surgery form to sign; he signed the form. My dog had surgery and then my husband picked her up and the cost was only $411, he assumed it just wound up costing less. They did not do the full surgery; they cut a slit in her ear and drained it and sent her home in a no flap helmet. Her ear filled back up and we had to take her back. When we returned for the appointment on August 4th because my dogs ear filled back up, they sent a different Dr into the room. When Dr Reed Prince entered the room, you could feel the hostility and confrontational demeanor from him.I calmly tried explaining to Dr. Reed Prince everything that we have gone through over the last 5 or 6 weeks with this office and all the issues and poor communication. He sternly told me that they did the surgery that I asked for, when I told him that they did not because I had asked for the full surgery, he then tried telling me that when my husband dropped off my dog that he was presented with the 2 options for the different surgeries and that my husband elected the cheaper option.I called BS on that because only one surgery form was presented when my dog was dropped off, and who schedules a surgery and then gives an option to elect a different surgery the day of said surgery?? He then flung the paper my husband signed in my face and said, "its right here is that not your signature". My husband was in the room and told the dr that the front desk had him sign the consent and the surgery form, there was NO option given and he didn't expect there to be as I had already elected what surgery to do and it was scheduled for and all he was doing was dropping her off and paying for the surgery. The Dr then changed his demeanor a little and said, "Sorry for the "miscommunication", I expressed my frustration in the cost of their mistake and their miscommunication to include the pain and suffering my dog has had to endure due to THEIR misunderstanding. This whole situation was uncalled for and unacceptable! The Dr scheduled my dog for today 8/6 for the full surgery that I originally asked for them to do. Upon picking my dog up her no flap helmet was soaked in blood, she had no dressing on her freshly cut open and sutured ear. They literally slapped the helmet on her and called us to come pick her up, and they still charged me the $741 for the surgery even though it was their mess up the first time around when they did NOT perform the surgery that I elected to have done. This felt like a bait and switch so they could get more $$ SICKENING and very unprofessional!
August 07 · Jessica JosephThey took my cat in last minute to get her stitched up after an awful injury. She’s not even a patient there and no one else would see her on such short notice. We ended up paying around $400 all together, but easily would have spent well over $1000 at an emergency clinic. So grateful!
July 05 · Chloe BonitzDidn’t have a way to get my dog to Vet called @ 8:44 and had to cancel. My son came and said he could take Harley. Called the Vet back at 8:57 to say we would be there. Showed up at 10:50 and they told us they gave our appointment away. How do you do you give away an Appointment before you finish listening to your messages? Now Harley will walking on his foot with no pad.
July 19 · Jeanette BernardsDon't know how to rate them because I have a very specific issue with scheduling, not staff . Been a client for almost 10 years. The staff have always been friendly, kind and helpful but the scheduling is awful. I am an hourly employee and I show up to my scheduled appointments on time, every time and I'm kept waiting usually a MINIMUM of 30 minutes past my scheduled time. Today's appointment took exactly 7 minutes once I was seen by the vet, but I was in the office for 52 minutes. My lunch break ended while I was sitting here, so I'm not only being charged for the service but I'm also losing pay.I understand that sometimes things happen, animals can be uncooperative, clients showing up late can have a domino effect and it is not necessarily the staff's fault, but the amount of time I've spent waiting to be seen - and the amount of money I have lost because of it - is really a big issue and pretty infuriating to be hit with a payment AND a loss at the same time, with no offer to comp even a nail 20$ trim. I'm not sure of the scheduling practices or what issues they may face that I can't understand, but I wish they would schedule less appointments throughout the day to give themselves extra time so that this doesn't happen. I surely can't be the only one.
