Countryside Veterinary Clinic

2180 Dickinson St, Fremont, OH 43420, USA

4.0
I recently bought my kitty there for a check up an to see how heart murmur was doing. My kitty has been taking medicine for three years now and I decided to do some research to see if there was a vitamin or something to make her feel better and her heart too. And I found something which I have been giving my kitty for over 3 months now. I was going to a different vet and I told them how much better she was doing, but there was things going on there and I decided to look for a new vet.. When I bought my kitty to the vet at Country Side. She seems nice and treated my kitty well, she said she could hardly hear my kittys heart murmur and decided not to give her any medication. She mentioned that they were getting medical records of my kitty and when she was in the medical area I heard them saying that they were not going to take my cat! Even the elderly receptionist made a remark which I don't know why she even back there. It made me feel uncomfortable and I should of asked if something was wrong, which I will definitely call and ask. - Judy Roush

Services Offered

Countryside Veterinary Clinic, like many established veterinary practices in Ohio, offers a range of services aimed at maintaining the health and well-being of pets. Based on general public information available for veterinary clinics and common offerings, one can anticipate the following services to be typically provided by such a facility:

  • Preventative Care and Wellness: This forms the cornerstone of responsible pet ownership. Services commonly include routine physical examinations to assess overall health, tailored vaccination protocols to protect against common diseases, and comprehensive parasite control programs (including prevention for heartworms, fleas, and ticks). Nutritional counseling and weight management advice are also often integrated into wellness plans to support a pet's long-term health.
  • Diagnostic Services: To accurately diagnose illnesses and conditions, clinics typically offer various diagnostic tools. This often includes in-house laboratory services for blood work (such as complete blood counts and chemistry panels), urinalysis, and fecal examinations. Imaging services like digital radiography (X-rays) are standard for examining bones, organs, and identifying internal issues. Some clinics may also offer ultrasound for more detailed soft tissue imaging.
  • Surgical Procedures: A range of surgical services is usually available, from common procedures like spaying and neutering to various soft tissue surgeries. These procedures typically involve pre-surgical assessments, appropriate anesthesia management, continuous monitoring during surgery, and dedicated post-operative care to ensure a safe and comfortable recovery for the animal.
  • Dental Care: Oral health is crucial for a pet's overall well-being. Professional dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, are commonly offered to remove plaque and tartar. Tooth extractions for diseased or damaged teeth are also typically performed, along with guidance for at-home dental hygiene.
  • Emergency and Urgent Care: While not a 24-hour emergency hospital, a local clinic often handles urgent care cases during operating hours. This means they are equipped to address acute illnesses or injuries that require prompt attention, providing initial stabilization and care. For after-hours emergencies, clinics typically refer to specialized emergency veterinary hospitals.
  • Microchipping: This vital service involves implanting a tiny, permanent identification chip under a pet's skin, significantly increasing the chances of reunification if a pet becomes lost.
  • Pain Management: Recognizing that animals can experience pain from various conditions, injuries, or surgeries, clinics often provide effective pain management strategies, utilizing appropriate medications and supportive therapies to enhance a pet's comfort and quality of life.

However, it is also important for potential clients to be aware of mixed public feedback, which can occasionally be part of any service-oriented business. Some online reviews for Countryside Veterinary Clinic have included serious allegations, such as concerns about diagnostic accuracy, perceived lack of empathy in handling animals, quick prescriptions without thorough examination, and claims of discriminatory treatment. For example, one review stated, "My cat almost lost her eye due to the vet’s misdiagnosing her condition and prescribing medication that was nowhere near the proper treatment plan. Thank god I got her to Fremont Animal Hospital that properly checked her out with proper testing and not just by looking at her." Another review mentioned feeling "uncomfortable" due to remarks heard from staff. Furthermore, a review explicitly used terms like "money grabbers" and "racist," alleging a particularly negative experience with an "old vet guy" and advising "DONT GO HERE ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE POC."

While official statements or responses to these specific allegations are not publicly available in the provided information, it is critical for any individual seeking veterinary care to consider a wide range of experiences and to perform their own due diligence. When evaluating a veterinary clinic, factors like transparency in billing, thoroughness of examination, clarity of communication, and respectful treatment of both pets and owners are paramount. These concerns, when raised, highlight the importance of open dialogue with the clinic and seeking second opinions if one feels their pet's care or their own experience is not meeting expectations.
