Cumberland Valley Equine Service Reviews
I have been using Dr. Kraybill for over 10 years, and believe he's an excellent veterinarian above reproach. He's reasonable, has a good sense of humor, and gives clients options (that he thoroughly explains) whenever possible. Interestingly, I have seen him administer the breathing test that another reviewer described, and didn't have any concerns. The horse was stalled during the procedure, unsedated, and cooperative. The test is meant to produce labored breathing, and as soon as it does the restriction is removed and Dr Kraybill is able to finish the workup. At no point did I view the exam as barbaric or even worrisome. With decades of hands on experience, a Cornell education, and regular attendance to continuing education seminars, I am sure Dr. Kraybill is well aware of his option to have referred the hysterical poster to Marion DuPont or New Bolton for a lengthy and expensive diagnostic workup that would have looked prettier to the untrained viewer. Again, as an owner, I appreciate Dr. Kraybill respecting my wallet as much as he respects my horse (always!) and me, as a client.
Dec 15, 2017 · Ang M.Dr. Kraybill is an amazing vet! He takes the time to talk to you and discuss your animals needs while not talking down to you. He is extremely friendly and always informative. Best large animal vet around!!
Jan 29, 2024 · Josh SI had a horrible experience with CVES while performing a pre purchase exam on my horse while at a barn in Cumberland County. In order to test for a possible respiratory issue a plastic bag was placed OVER my horses nose in order to restrict his breathing in a manner resembling suffocation. And left it there until the horse was visibly distraught. Then removed the bag and timed how long it took for the horse to recover. I was astonished and very upset, even after being in the horse industry for 30 years and riding all different disciplines from English to Rodeo I have never heard of this type of "test" and I am most certainly NOT ok with anyone doing this to one of my beloved animals. If you are not ok with this kind of treatment I would suggest that you consider using an alternative vet for your equine companions.
