★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I was a basket case, worried about my doggo’s hot spot that seemed to be getting worse. I called and got really emotional. The very kind and understanding lady was so patient with me as I cried. She took my info and told me to bring him in. This place is very, very spacious, clean, and organized. Dr. Amelia Huff was the Emergency Veterinarian who tended to my Boogie Kobe. I am so thankful to her and every single staff member who helped with his care. I didn’t get the names of the other people who helped me, but they were just as kind and caring. One is pregnant with her first baby, and one was a young lady with glasses and big eyelashes. They were both so sweet! My Kobe required sedation, and his care and post-op care were excellent. They were very reassuring and supportive. He required antibiotics and antiseptic. They kept us informed every step of the way. We were given instructions and information in detail. I am so grateful to this place and its employees for their wonderful level of care. They care not only for our pet, but also for their human parents. I highly recommend this hospital. The triage/treatment rooms are large and clean, the reception area is spacious and airy, and there’s even an area to get water, fresh coffee, espresso, hot chocolate, and snacks. I hope to not have to use it again, but it’s nice to know that I can go to CVETS!
June 12 · Jan JanExcellent care, very kind, compassionate staff, we were treated very well, and Marcy was given great medical care and treatment. Dr Powalie was amazing!! I sincerely thank her for the time she took to explain what was happening, how to treat Marcy's anemia, and the obvious care and kindness that everyone at CVETS displayed. Ella was so helpful at discharge in giving instructions for Marcy's medication schedule, and what to watch out for in aftercare. What I appreciated most is the quick response, being able to schedule ER treatment at home online at 4:30 in the morning, getting to the facility early, and the very kindest, compassionate care of the entire staff.
June 18 · Janet JohnsonSo, the people here are so kind and calm and patient and polite with every distraught person and animal here. Dr. Tracy explained everything to me without talking down to me, and made sure I understood what is going on with our cat. They gave me cost estimates, so I was able to consider the financial burden. They are caring for our animals in the back, but they are also caring for the people too.It may seem small, but the waiting area seats are all comfortable couches set up in such a way that everyone has a nook, there's a kids area, there's a very fancy and fully stocked cold and hot drinks dispenser area, with snacks, and the ladies room has both a diaper changing table and monthly cycle supplies. Did I have to wait a few hours as they took care of a LOT of animals, yes ... but they made the wait REALLY humane.
July 08 · Pax BobrowCVETS is my first choice for specialty and emergency care. Dr Bohn (neurology)has seen my whippet Fiona since 2020. I am thankful we have knowledgeable and caring specialists like her here in Columbia.I’m also thankful there are other specialists including a cardiologist plus an amazing ER staff in this same location.I now have two whippets seeing Dr Kennerly, who is an amazing cardiologist.Appointments are easy to schedule and pricing is reasonable.
June 03 · Joyce JacksonMy Rhodesian Ridgeback was referred to cardiology where we had a consultation. Dr. Kennerly was very thorough in her examination of my dog and discovered that his lymph nodes were enlarged and suggested I have my vet check him out in a month. After the month passed my vet checked him and determined his lymph nodes were still enlarged and had performed a Fine Needle Aspiration and was determined to be Lymphoma so we were referred to Oncology at CVETS. Both times we were referred we got appointments the very next day. Dr. Brown did an examination of my dog and worked with me to determine a treatment plan for his cancer. He was able to get his first dose of chemotherapy the same day. A few days later I noticed my dog wash having difficulties urinating so we took him to the emergency department at CVETS. Dr. Buchert was friendly and suspected my dog had a neurogenic bladder emptied his bladder with a catheter and sent him home with medications to treat him. A couple of days later we had to return to the emergency department for the same issue and Dr. Powalie determined he needed to be admitted and see the oncologist in the morning. Dr Brown checked him out and worked on a treatment plan and gave me follow up calls before she left for the day and again in the mornings to go over that day's treatment plan. After being hospitalized and not improving with his bladder function for a few days I had come to the decision to put my baby to sleep. I went to visit him and the staff gave me all the time I needed with him before we put him to sleep. When it was time, I called for the doctor to come in. Dr. Perdue was professional, courteous and sensitive to the situation. He told me that the staff had grown fond of my dog during the few days he was there and he was saddened to hear that my dog couldn't urinate on his own that morning. He told me that he felt I was doing the right thing for his quality of life and though still a hard decision made it a little more palatable. After he confirmed my dog had passed he gave me more time to be with him. The staff was sorry for my loss. I want to thank everyone there at CVETS for providing a kind and nurturing environment where it feels like they genuinely care about your pet. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of emergency or specialty care.
