- I found a kitten who needed her leg amputated. The vet did the amputation and informed me that he left some of it due to concern of blood loss. He told me he would like to later amputate again but would cause her no problems if not. I had no knowledge on amputations, and I had trusted him. She started peeing in the food bowl, so I took her in to be checked for a UTI. He did an ultrasound and said that based off the behavior I was explaining to him that he thinks UTI and gave her treatment. He DID NOT do a Urine Analysis. I also asked him to look at the scab that was on her amputation. He said it was a fluid pocket and wasnt worried about it. a few days later, there was alot of blood coming from that spot. I left a message with the operator (I never got a call back). I took her to Neels. they informed me that it was infected. They drained it and gave me antibiotics and said it woudl keep happening if the rest of the leg is not amputated. I called Deer Creek about getting an estimate on the cost for a 2nd amputation, they set me up with an appt that day. he said he would do the surgery tomorrow for free. I was hesitant due to the infection and not happy that I had brought her in the week prior and asked about the fluid pocket and was basically told it was no big deal. He was assuring me it would be fine, so I went through with it. I also asked for blood work to be done. The day of the amputation, it was 2:30 pm and I had not heard anything so I called asking for an update. The receptionist told me that she didn't have an update, I would have to wait for the vet to get back from his Dr appt. I did not understand why she couldn't tell me if the surgery had happened yet or not. Her vagueness made me think something was wrong. I called back at 4:00pm. The receptionist said he is in surgery with my kitten. I was upset because I had been thinking the worst things had happened due to her vagueness the first time I called so I raised my voice and expressed my concerns. She put me on hold and the manager answered. The manager has NO managerial skills when it comes to de-escalation and customer service. My voice was still raised but I tried explaining to her that I was upset because I was thinking something bad happened to my pet. The manager called me a LIAR and said that was not true and kept talking over me. She was telling me how the vet was one of the best in Oklahoma and I argued the best vet would do a urine analysis to CONFIRM a UTI and address a fluid pocket that was infected the week prior. She said he was doing me a favor by doing the surgery for free. this surgery would not have been needed had it been completely done the first time and the fluid pockets would have not been an issue either. She continued to talk over me, and her voice was raised as well. I had to raise my voice louder to get her attention and if he had already started the surgery. The manger yelled "yes". I told her I'd pick her up when it was over and hung up. at 5:15 pm. the vet himself called me and said it was done, and my kitten was fine, but his staff had told him that I wanted to come get her and he recommended not doing that. I told him how I no longer trusted him and his staff, and I explained what had happened. He apologized but he also kept trying to talk over me and I had to stop him and say, "please let me finish what I'm trying to tell you". I agreed to her staying another night. When I asked him about the blood work, He told me he didn't do any because he didn't feel it was necessary. This morning, I went to pick her up. The staff did not speak to me. When I walk through the door, there was no "I'll be right with you" (Even if you have a client that you don't like, that is unprofessional for your business). Complete cold shoulder from them. This tells me that the vet has or will not being speaking to his staff about their lack of communication to give a simple update to a concerned client about their pet and the complete rudeness from the manager.I have lost all trust and respect for this business and it staff. - Amazing staff, always kind & helpful! We lost one of ours last month & they handled it so professionally with true compassion as we arrived & they were closing! Never rushed us or made us feel like we were a burden! Thank you for everything you do and the way you run your business! Very classy and appreciated! November 28 · CHCR
- I have used Dr. Link for over 15 years. He truly cares about our fur babies. I moved from Harrah 5 years ago and started to use a vet in the city, the way we were always rushed or told they couldn’t get us in made me go back to Dr. Link. I recently lost my miniature schnauzer, Chewy because of old age, he was 15. The professionalism that the staff and Dr. showed was truly appreciated. We were not rushed at all. I’ll drive the 45 minutes one way so my furbabes can have professional, caring Doctors. August 26 · Collyn Keyes
