★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Vets should not show fear of your pet. My dog is 7 year old pitt mix that has never ever bit or attacked anyone. She does have anxiety, I assume from her first two years of life before me. i have 8 grandkids under 9 that have never had a problem. She is very friendly and sweet. I am now looking for a new veteran clinic with more confident veterinarians and assistants.
August 04 · Cimberlee MalmquistPersonally, I would not recommend Eau Claire Animal Hospital. I feel as though they viewed my pet as a number and dollar signs, and not a dog needing veterinary care. We suspected my dog had an ear infection, and they were booked 2 weeks out with minimal care or understanding in my concern when I had called. We were able to call and get him assessed the same day by Ark Animal Hospital, who confirmed that he had been dealing with a double ear infection and that it was a good thing we addressed it as soon as possible. I have always felt someone off put when we have addressed our concerns with the vet here, and I would recommended taking your pet elsewhere for future care.
August 25 · ChloeI have never had such great caring service from a vet, I was really nervous about an upcoming surgery but they nailed it 100% and left both my cat and I very happy and he even already seems to be mostly back to his normal self. Was also scared of the cost but it actually ended up being hundreds cheaper than the initial estimate. This will be his new place to get care for everything. Thank you!
August 19 · CacodemonTook my older diabetic cat in to get treatment for his diabetes. I was told that I will get information on feline diabetes, that never happened! Why couldn’t Dr. Frank tell me, directly to my face while in the office speaking to her, that the nerve damage caused by diabetes would also affect my cat’s digestive system and would cause motility issues of the gut causing extreme vomiting? I was bring my cat to do a day long blood sugar work up and had to cancel due to family needs. Then tried to reschedule this. With my cat’s deteriorating health they refused and just said to come in for a blood draw to check bloodwork. When I gave them an updated as to what was happening with his health and the measures I took THEY canceled the appointment. I said I want to keep the appointment to get some subcutaneous fluids in him and then THEY changed the appointment to one I couldn’t make it to on purpose after I explained my work schedule. I was more than willing to do what they recommended but they withheld information that would have helped know why this had to be done in a particular way. Then they proceeded to give some excuse that their vet techs can’t give subcutaneous fluids. Now why would a vet tech not be able to give subcutaneous fluids? They go to school for extensive training which includes this and more. So this may be getting back at the client for canceling a big money making appointment. Seems that when you have an older pet and you make decisions on your own they are more than happy to turn their backs on you. I have read many of the other reviews about clients with older pets and it’s a similar case as a dying animal will not make them money. I have cancelled all other appointments with these people and do not recommend if you have an older pet. If I could give no stars I would .
November 12 · DANA STONERGreat experience, we will be back! Our family brought our acutely ill 13 year old dog to see Dr. Mather. The very thoughtful staff provided a blanket and bed for our dog to lie on, plus extra chairs for all the humans. Dr. Mather is hands-on, getting down on the floor to assess our lethargic dog. Who knew a vet could smell an ear infection in a dog?! Best of all, no guilt or shaming for our minimal primary care in recent years. The love the staff has for animals is so apparent and we all felt welcomed and cared for. Great phone follow up as well!! We are grateful.
