Equine Health Services is a veterinary clinic that has served the Michigan community for a period of time, and its reputation, like many long-standing practices, is built on a mix of experiences. A significant part of their client base seems to be pet owners who appreciate a straightforward and direct approach to veterinary medicine. For some, this no-nonsense style is a welcome change, allowing for clear and concise communication about a pet's health. The clinic's staff, including professionals like Dr. Applegate, have been described in client testimonials as caring and dedicated, willing to go "over and above" for their patients, and as someone who "tells it like it is." ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The vet is very rude, doesn’t seem to listen to your concerns, doesn’t let you explain the situation before coming up with a “diagnosis”, also brushes a lot of things under the rug so the horse doesn’t get the help it needs, also VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I called about my horse having some problems previously she seemed very rude over the phone, but I didn’t think anything of it. At the end of our conversation I told you thank you and goodbye. I then called her again the next day and was describing what was wrong with my horse again to see if maybe new day better outcome. No not at all she proceeded to tell me “you called me yesterday about this same problem and said thank you goodbye so I am going to tell you thank you and hang up” then she just hung up. In my opinion this is very rude and she has zero customer service skills. I would not recommend going here unless you want the wrong diagnosis and a lot of rudeness.
June 04 · Shelbi RindfieldI met Dr. Applegate when Sugar, the Mattawan Junk Yard Horse came to my attention. Dr. A. went over and above in helping us give Sugar the best, last few months of her life. I now use Dr. Applegate for my own pets and for my rescue/foster dogs. She says that she wants to retire soon but I doubt that that's going to happen any time soon. Dr. A. actually cares but she also tells it like it is. I thank you, Dr. Applegate for being the wonderful vet that you are.
August 19 · Nancy PhillipsVery unprofessional and no compassion in an emergency situation.30 years as my best friends vet. When the horse went down, and they couldnt get her back up. She told them to just feed her. Refused to come out .She may have been a good vet for many years. But her good days are over, she needs to retire.
