March 21 · Terri FolksBest equine vet in Oklahoma. Little bit of a drive for us, but worth every mile! The staff does awesome with our driving horses.
May 01 · Mark SyzemoreGreat place and staff. Very efficient and well run company! You won't be disappointed when you walk into the store!
April 21 · Shane MayabbI feel compelled to leave a review after what happened last Saturday. My horse started choking during his evening meal. I had to call six vets and after two hours of trying I found EMA and gave them a call. I was not a client of EMA, but Dr. Whitfield called me back and was willing to come to my farm because I wasn't comfortable trailering him to their clinic. She resolved his choke (which was not going to resolve on its own) and gave him the appropriate medication, and now he's back to his old self!I am very thankful for Dr. Whitfield for helping us on a Saturday evening when no one else would. She saved Indy's life. EMA has a new client for sure!
March 25 · Becky HardwickeAs is often the case, there is good and bad. I want to be fair about both.Pro: they have a great location right on the highway and they offer farm visits. We have used them a few times over the years. For the basics such as Coggins and vaccinations, they did great.Con: They came to see an obviously ill horse on Dec 26 and the Vet was a kindly gentleman. He started an antibiotic, charged about $390 and left. On December 28th we called him back because things were obviously getting worse. The gentleman vet came out again and again was congenial. His Tech pointed out an area of substantial swelling and heat under the jaw. The vet dismissed her observation, changed antibiotic, charged $350 and left. On December 30th the horse was obviously deteriorating quickly so we took her to a different Vet who sent us to a vet hospital for immediate surgery. The abscess was drained by the surgeon and the quantity removed was huge. That surgeon/hospital charged $270.00 for weekend surgery. Both the surgeon and the referring veterinarian were adamant that this problem was never going to be cleared without draining the abscess.EMA appeared at the house again (presumably a follow-up on their prior farm visits) They charged about $185 more and departed (different Vet).EMA missed the ball on this horse, missed badly. She would have died without our changing veterinarians. We provided EMA the information about the necessary care that actually allowed the horse to survive and asked them to reconsider the billing for the care that was incorrect/insufficient. They did not. We paid the charges, but we deeply resent having to spend more than $900 on the care that was not only ineffective but in my opinion dangerously close to malpractice, or worse.I will readily admit that I have fallen short on some work in my past and had to make it right. Had EMA acknowledged falling short and made it right, I would have continued to be their customer and would not dream of complaining.
