Veterinary Eye Center of Oklahoma Introduce
For pet owners and veterinarians in Oklahoma facing complex animal eye conditions, the **Veterinary Eye Center of Oklahoma (VECO)** is the premier destination for specialized care. Located conveniently in Edmond, VECO operates as a specialty referral clinic dedicated exclusively to the diagnosis, medical management, and surgical treatment of all diseases affecting the eyes and surrounding tissues in animals. When your beloved companion—whether a dog, cat, horse, or exotic pet—requires attention beyond the scope of general practice, VECO provides the advanced expertise and compassionate touch you need.
The clinic is led by **Dr. J. Jeff Studer, DVM, DACVO**, who is not only the owner and founder but also the only board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist practicing full-time in the Oklahoma City metro area. Being board-certified means Dr. Studer has completed rigorous, specialized training and successfully passed a challenging examination administered by the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO). This level of expertise ensures that patients receive the highest standard of care available in the field of animal ophthalmology.
The entire VECO team is repeatedly praised by clients for their incredible compassion and commitment to patient well-being, especially during the stressful time of facing vision problems or surgery. As one grateful client mentioned regarding surgery for their elderly dog, the staff "went above and beyond to minimize risks and make sure Murphy received the best treatment plan, while clearly (and patiently) communicating with us along the way." This combination of expert technical skill and genuine kindness is what makes VECO a trusted resource for pet families throughout the state.
Because VECO is a specialty clinic and many cases involve complex conditions or surgical planning, **Appointments are recommended** for all visits. The team is dedicated to providing efficient service, but due to the nature of their work—including unforeseen emergencies and critical cases—they appreciate patience, as the focus is always on the quality of care for every patient.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- I don’t even have the words to express how happy we are with our experience at VECO. The care and compassion from Dr Studer and his staff exceeded our expectations. We were extremely worried about surgery for our elderly doodle who has had previous problems with surgery. They went above and beyond to minimize risks and make sure Murphy received the best treatment plan, while clearly (and patiently) communicating with us along the way. Murphy’s eyes look amazing and the VIP treatment was icing on the cake! March 03 · Stephanie Summers
- Dr Jeff Studer and his staff are absolutely incredible! Dr Studer and each member of his team are kind, compassionate and caring - which is exactly what pet owners need when facing vision problems with their beloved pets. We're always greeted with a friendly welcome and feel like we're among friends each time we visit. Dr Studer's expert diagnosis and treatment plan are not only keeping our Abbey comfortable, but preserving as much of her vision as possible. I highly recommend Dr Studer and his team - and greatly appreciate their kind, compassionate care! February 07 · Terry Ballantine
- Dr. Studer & his staff were so amazing. He was very caring, thorough and took time to explain everything. Great experience. If you have fur bebes with any eye issues I can't recommend this practice enough! Rogue (our 15 yr old teacup poodle agrees!) July 15 · Amber Garnett
- We were seriously concerned our boy Jax might lose his left eye. We couldn't have been happier to hear Dr Studer say not only that that wasn't going to happen but that the ulcer had healed!! We loved Dr Studer and all of his staff. Every single one of them was professional but super kind and gentle with our boy. We won't take Jax anywhere else for his eyecare. January 22 · Terri Hare
- On October 8th, 2024, I had the pleasure of our Service Dog’s first visit with Dr. Studor at the Veternarian Eye Clinic. Yes, there are Vets who specialize in EYES!!! After a few “vital signs” by a vet tech, Dr. Studor introduced himself, so politely to the family and then approached Jayhawk. After gentle petting while continuing soft talk, he examined Jayhawk’s eyes, explaining every step. Jayhawk was calm and co-operative with Dr. Studor. I sincerely recommend this place at 2121 McKown Dr. Norman, OK. October 13 · Sharon Ryan
