Eye Care for Animals Reviews
I can’t say enough good things about Eye Care for Animals. Dr. Cochrane is the most caring, detailed, thorough, trustworthy doctor I’ve ever met. He takes such excellent care of my dog Milo every visit and performed two perfect enucleation surgeries on him. You can tell he genuinely cares and it shows during every encounter. I also want to highlight how fantastic the front desk staff, and vet assistants are as well! Everyone is so kind and always makes sure to address any questions or concerns I have. I’m so appreciative that my 9 year old dog is well taken care of here and is getting puppy energy back after being in pain/discomfort for so long.Thank you all!!
Mar 10, 2025 · kim gwynnDr. Zack Cochrane is great. I brought my dog, Pepper, in about a year ago as I was told with DNA testing when she was a pup that she had the markers for PPL (Primary Lens Luxation) which had a high probably she would have it, usually setting in between 4 - 8 yrs. At 5 yrs I noticed a difference in how her eyes looked at night, they reflected differently, and I knew I needed to take her for a checkup to see if the PLL had started. My appt with Dr Cochrane went well. He was able to quickly confirm that her lenses had, in fact, started to slip, but were only at 40%. Unfortunately (fortunately?), he also was able tell that she also had glaucoma and her eye pressures were very high. Immediately he prescribed 2 types of eyedrops to help reduce the pressure in her eyes and to constrict her pupils to help keep the slipping lens in place behind the iris/pupil. He was very thorough in his exam and was up front and honest about the fact that my girl probably, at some point, would go blind and may even need to have her eye(s) removed. I was heartbroken but thankful for having a diagnosis and a route to take to help her.On a good note, she just had her 1-year checkup and her eye pressure has been stable and within a very healthy range (considering her diagnosis) and we are now on a "maintenance" schedule where she is stable enough to continue to have 6-month check-ups and remain on the same prescription going forward. The staff at Eye Care for Animals in Gilbert are all very caring, professional, and so gentle and patient with my girl. The front desk staff was quick to get me signed in and the vet assistant was so sweet and gentle. If there is any caveat, it is the pricing. BUT, this is a specialist and you're paying for their expertise in their field. My vet couldn't diagnose PLL in their office and didn't think to test for glaucoma... Both of these were instantly diagnosed, confirmed, and treated, and I am thankful for it. I will save the extra money to know my girl is getting the best care and, if/when the time comes for surgery, I will know she's in caring and capable hands.
Apr 22, 2025 · Trudy DVery impressed with the service provided. I was nervous about the appointment because eye care for my older 14/15 year old dog was a new experience but both the vet tech and the doctor were amazing. Their evaluations were thorough but handled gently and with care, and both let him stuff them and the medical instruments before each procedure. They explained the issue, the risks of surgery, the contingency if surgery was deemed necessary, and explained the aftercare needed. I left the appointment feeling that I had nothing to worry about, which is a nice feeling when you are caring for an old dog with high blood pressure anda heart murmur. He even took and ate the treats that the doctor gave him, which is a rare response for him - sometimes he won't eat treats that his groomer offers and he has been going to her for years!
Apr 25, 2025 · ChristopherExtremely professional clinic with multiple specialties in the same, convenient center. The Eye specialist had a Resident working with him who displayed great bedside manner and competence. Dr. Cochran, the primary specialist reviewed the Resident's findings and gave his own evaluation. He was extremely thorough and took the time to educate me regarding the disease process which served to ameloriate my angst regarding my cat's eye condition. I drove over 60 miles one way for this consult, and it was well worth it.
Apr 16, 2025 · Linda May-PoskanzerI can’t say enough great things about Dr. Felchle and her entire team. Each time we’ve seen her, her gentle, caring demeanor puts me at ease immediately. It is evident she cares so deeply about her patients. And a sweet detail that touches my heart every time - she never fails to tell Magnolia she is a good dog :)My dog Magnolia ultimately needed an enucleation but had less than ideal bloodwork and several issues that made anesthesia risky. The entire team at ECFA provided me with so much comfort on the day of surgery, and Dr. Felchle took great care to ensure every aspect of her surgery was done as quickly and safely as possible.Sara went over the plan so thoroughly with me that I was left with no doubt that every detail had been thought out carefully - after dropping her off with Sara I immediately called my husband and told him I felt so much more at ease. Magnolia did great and is on the road to recovery.Having previously been in the veterinary field, I know first hand how much goes on behind the scenes and how busy it gets. The tremendous effort put it by this entire team in every way is no small feat. Thank you so much for the incredible work you all do every day. It truly means the world to many of us.
