It is important to note, however, that some feedback indicates challenges with appointment availability, particularly for emergency or simple, quick-turnaround needs like nail trims. Some users have reported being directed to emergency clinics for issues that they felt could be handled by their primary vet, and some have expressed concerns about the front desk staff's demeanor. While the quality of veterinary care itself is generally highly praised, prospective clients should be aware of these reported logistical challenges when considering Healing Paws for urgent or immediate needs.

Healing Paws Veterinary Hospital Reviews
We recently relocated from Upstate NY to the Hillsborough area and have been looking to establish our ‘fur crew’ with a practice that is local. Ironically, over the last 4.5 weeks, several of our colleagues and new neighbors highly recommended HP’s and now we know why. The care truly is phenomenal and everyone is so pleasant. And added ‘Bonus Points’: The office was very clean and the various artwork throughout is just perfect! We were in the office yesterday w/ both of our dogs (our 2.5 year old male yellow lab named ‘DUKE’ and his 4 month old little sister who is a Golden Doodle named Maple-Mae! Our appointment went very well; we saw Dr Kat for both dogs’ appointments (which was great because I love the idea of trying to keep the same provider for routine visits just for ‘continuity of care’. I was so impressed that Dr Kat started the visit by taking the first few minutes of the appointment time to not only introduce herself to me, but she then literally got on the floor and she played with both pups for a bit before doing their full assessments and required vaccines etc. I think her ‘method’ clearly worked well as both dogs seemed to trust her and Duke didn’t display any s/s of being anxious or anything which was great to see! After she took time to play with both pups, we discussed our goals of care and she also answered some questions for me. Needless to say, we absolutely loved our initial visit to Healing Paws and we will definitely be returning! Thanks again for everything! You truly have established such a wonderful practice that is ‘the full package deal’ and a ‘one stop shop’ which will work perfectly with our hectic schedules. Thanks again for treating our babies as if they are/were your own.
Nov 15, 2023 · Mary CastineI’ve gone to this clinic for a few years now and I could not be more continuously disappointed. It doesn’t matter what you need to schedule an appointment for, there is never anything available. Though this is an emergency clinic, they will never see emergency patients, even if its a simple sickness. They will always tell you to go somewhere else. The front desk staff have been awful to deal with for at least the last 2 years. Very unkind, very hostile. Take your pets and your money elsewhere. In specific I needed a simple nail trim for my cat. Was told to go to emergency vet. My dog had what seemed to be a runny nose - told to just go to emergency vet. If you have such limited availability, get more veterinarians. Your practice alone is over loading emergency clinics in the area FOR NO REASON. I have confirmed this. Get all new front desk staff - you need people who are warm, compassionate, and not driving your business away to better places.
Jun 30, 2025 · Cedar Grove BonsaiReally great experience! My baby Prince is not a patient here at Healing Paws.. my regular vet could not get us in in a timely manner yet Healing Paws was more than happy to fit us in same day for an emergency! Dr. Brewer was excellent in diagnosing and treating my dog Prince while also taking into consideration I had 3 small children with me and giving me cost estimates along the way. We were in and out quickly but yet did not feel rushed. I’m very pleased and will definitely recommend Dr. Brewer and her staff to friends searching for a caring vet family!! Also would like to add, my baby Prince is on the mend and doing well, could not ask for more!
Jun 16, 2023 · Brooklyn ScarlettUPDATE:Since I can't reply to the owner's replies specifically im adding to my review here. I'm well aware of my last visit. What I don't appreciate is standing orders being canceled without my knowledge, or my consent. Its shady buisness practice at best. If you truly want to make things right and want to talk about it, you have my information, as well as my wife's information.==========================Original reviewI had a 5 star review for you guys at first but I'm not fond of how you canceled my dog's flea med perscription without even giving me a call or speaking with me first. Not an email, not a text, but speaking with me and communicating clear as day for why that was necessary. Covertly doing anything behind the customer's back without speaking to them is not how anyone should conduct buisness.I'm not made of money but insisting beyond what I came to the appointments for was another aspect I didn't enjoy and quickly became burdensome and tiring. More diets, more medications, more tests, anything you could find to bleed me dry and using my dog as ammunition for emotional manipulation is something I could see quite clearly. If I'm being honest it should have never been a 5 star review. I won't be coming back and I would urge/warn anyone else to take a long hard look at not just healing paws but Veterinary practices everywhere. To my knowledge only in the US is a prescription required for effective preventative pest control like flea meds. It's a legal racket and we are all being taken advantage of.
Jan 30, 2025 · Dakota HaithcockMixed emotions. Jessica, the behavior specialist, is great and talked with me forever about anything I had questions about. The moment Dr. Kammerer walked in, I felt uncomfortable. Her demeanor is harsh. I didn't know what type of appt I was walking into as I didn't know if my cat would need blood work done or not. When she outright said we were doing it/she recommended, before she even examined my cat or saw her at all, I was a little taken aback so I asked about the price. I was also taken aback that it would have been around $325 and I simply asked if there was any sort of discount for teachers in which the Dr. looked at me like I had no right to ask. She was rude and I did not like her "bedside manner" at all. NOT TO MENTION I was uninformed about the diverse options of bloodwork I could pay for based off what they would test for. It wasn't until everyone left and Jessica came back in to let me know of the 2 options. Had I not shown concern about the money aspect, I wonder if the other option would have arose at all. Again, Jessica is great and I appreciate her time with me. If I return, I will make sure to ask for anyone BUT Kammerer.
