March 11 · Mims SmithFirst of all, this review is about our Shihtzu that we had for 15 yrs, who was like our son and part of our family. He was at the end of his 16 yr life span and it was time for him to cross the Rainbow Bridge. Thank God, we were referred to Dr. Evans who was caring and understanding, while helping us get through this emotional time. May our lovable Shihtzu, Jojo, rest in peace. Thank you Dr. Evans.
February 25 · Jack RocksA kitten adopted me recently and I needed to get a rabies shot for it to comply with my apartment Mgrs requirements. I found Highway 6 Vet Clinic online and since it was near me I went there to make an appointment. The nice lady at the desk said they could fit me in later that day. I wasn't expecting that. This will be my vet clinic for future needs.
March 13 · steven rothI have been bringing my animals to see Doc Evans for sometime now. I have 3 dogs, 2 cats and a horse. Almost 2 years ago now, the day my mom passed away, I went to her house to pick up some papers and take trash out. While outside, I bent down to open the garage and found this baby kitten (with the umbilical cord still attached) it was half dead, cold and wet. It was a ferrell kitten from a cat my mom had been trying to catch for years because she never took care of her babies. I picked the baby up and took it home to start caring for him. When he was almost a year old I started letting him go outside, we live on property, and he ended up getting attacked by a hawk and almost died. He recovered, but several months later he had a lump appear and it was very tender. I took him to Doc Evans, and did not have a lot of money to spend, instead of Doc Evans running tons of test and charging me lots of $$$$, he put him on some antibiotics because it could have been from his hawk attack. Doc Evans told me to watch him carefully and if he got worse or if I had any questions he would see him again with out charge. He knew this kitten meant a lot to me because I found him the day my mom died and I felt it was a connection to her. About 10 days after the antibiotics, he was not better and I took him back to see Doc Evans. Doc Evans felt the lump again and said it could be cancer because of how it felt and it had grown, He said it would be very rare with such a young cat but was a great possibility. Again, instead of running up cost for me, running tons of test, he offered to do a reduced cost surgery and just go in and remove the lump and if it looked like cancer I could pay then to send if off to see for sure. I opted to have him remove the lump and not send it off for testing because Doc Evans said it was big and bad looking but did not appear to look like a cancer tumor. My cat is doing great now, very healthy and happy, no more lump or soreness. I trusted Doc Evans and greatly appreciate his compassion and his expertise. He wants to make animals well and he is very caring, compassionate and considerate of others and their financial situation. We all love our fur babies and it is a great thing when someone cares enough to work with you on what you can afford in order to keep them healthy. Just like with medical doctors, they do not always have all the answers and you must trust them to do their job and pray. I once had a wise vet tell me, there is nothing that God cannot cure, we do our best and let God take it from there. Thank you Doc Evans for all you do!
August 19 · Cynthia CortinasI came here for my dachshund that was 19 years old. The other vet I took him to because he became very sick, told me that he needed to have his shots up to date and needed to have surgery on his mouth, I disagreed with the vet staff at the other place because he was 19 years old and wouldn’t be able to survive the shots and surgery. I brought my dachshund here because my mom recommended it and the vet here would give me the best possible diagnosis for him. The vet looked over him and gave me the truth and it was the worse news that every pet owner doesn’t want to hear. He told me that my dachshunds organs were shutting down due to age and that if we were to perform the surgery then he could either die during surgery or after surgery. He explained to me that our best option is to put him to sleep because he’s in a lot of pain and he’s not doing well. I was crying and I asked are you sure this is the best choice, his response was yes we have to take his pain away. I was so devastated by the loss of my sweet boy but I had to make the hardest decision for him and that was letting him go to heaven.I was at least happy knowing I got the right diagnosis for my baby and that the vet didn’t try to scam me out of my money.Thank you for giving my sweet boy Killer the right diagnosis.Killer Meyer2004-2023
